Painting Conquistadors

Painting Conquistadors

Andreas Heneborn has been painting and taking photos for the Conquistador/16th Century infantry set and we like what we see!

We previously mentioned that we ended up expanding this set from a full frame to a frame and a half to make sure we could fit all the weapon and head/helmet options we could. We think we've ended up with a much more versatile set with many more options for the 16th century and even a bit before.

Because we expanded the set to a second tool we needed to fill up that remaining 1/2 and the parts for that other (secret for now) set is with the engineers for splits and layout. Once that's complete this will be off to tooling.

Here are the two frames that will be in the set. You'll get 5 of each:

Hopefully it won't be much longer until we can let you know it's in tooling. We'll be showing off the Aztec frame soon as well.

Secrets? Please be Pike, please be pikes!!!

I think Axel is on the money here!

I too, am expecting some sci-fi take to be applied to the kit which will be revealed in the non too distant future.

Regardless. I will be buying a box or two.

And who knows. Should the kit prove popular. Perhaps, WA will release a combined Cannons and mounted Conquistadors ‘Plus dog’ kit.

I know I’d buy one.

Keep up the great work guys, and produce Crimean War British Grenadier Guards. Please!

@John
If I have read their Facebook page correctly, the “sectrets” will make the set usable with the Death fields, so I would expect lasguns or energy helbards.

Conquistadores seem to be good material for this kind of “sport”. Perhaps that is the reason why the Spaniards never actually arrived in China – they tried but where “recruited” on their way :-)

My speculation on the ‘here be secrets’ part of the sprue would be hunting dogs, a small cannon with applicable arms or a horse and rider.
Also agree great for human warbands in Mordheim.

I have a 3d printer and so decided not to buy any more minis.
This made me change my mind.
They’re gorgeous!

Directed to WA!

I have now visited your Facebook page to see what a friend had drawn my attention towards.

Friday polls!

It is a shame that you are limiting participation in such polls to a Facebook group.

Surely it would be better to hold them open for all on your own site instead of acting as a recruiter for Facebook.

Perhaps you are unaware of the behaviour of those who run Facebook, or, unlike myself have not witnessed it first hands with their demands to obtain personal information. (They asked for a copy of my driving license or passport to be sent to them, in order to prove who I was. Giving some spurious reason that I was flagged up.)

No social media company needs to obtain such information! Or should ever be trusted with it.

I and many others have been warning others to keep away from that damn company ever since.

Please guys re-think your strategy here. Because you are excluding many, like myself, who will never entertain that platform ever again.

My experience is one amongst thousands of others.

Damon C Richardson: “Would be awesome if you could do a Malay or Ming Chinese kit to game the European\Portuguese colonization of Asia in the 16c”

Awesome indeed!
There was an abortive plan by the Spanish to invade China just like Peru, using the Phillipines as starting point, around 1550. Apart from that Ming infantry (which would probably need at least two sets for Southern and Northern style would be very usefull to battle the Japanese in Korea. I am sure they would be quite popular, perhaps even bringing in some Chinese into the hobby – 250 years of history with the largest army worldwide at times, and the Ming are not even well served with metals, let alone plastic.

And just the multitude of guns and warwagons this era offers. Not suited for plastics, but in need of lots of Ming anyway. http://schudak.de/tmp/pics/greatDivine.jpg

Well, too many ideas :-)

I would second the request for non facebook polls. Many don’t use FB and it is sad to miss out on this.

The Conquistadores look great. Didn’t know I need yet another historical army, but it seems a few boxes need to come my way. If not for the Americas, then at least for some rennessaince spanish.
That being said, where’s the napoleonic spanish? They have been teased ages ago and are still my most anticipated set :) …and the indian mutiny british :)

Question for WA.!

I don’t see the Friday polls here on your own site????

Are they Facebook only?

FYI some of us do not, or ever will use Facebook. But, it’d be nice to take part in the Friday polls.

Keep up the great work and produce Crimean War British Grenadier Guards. Please!
