Just some ramblings. I've gotten all of my dwarves and some of my orcs painted. There were some single models on the sprues and on a whim I decided to start putting all those on individual bases, no idea what I'll use them on yet but the results are promising. The scale is just so, much much quicker and easier to paint than 28mm, just enough detail to still look nice and individual. The 10mm bases that come on the sprues are just a little too little, there's very little space outside the puddle. I got some 15mm ones but those are just a little too big. So I bought some 12mm wooden buttons from a hobby store and once I paint up some more orcs I'll try and base on those but it needs some sanding to remove the convex bit of the button.
Thinking I might get some of those 10mm scale dungeon tiles from Pendraken, start running a lightweight dungeon crawl for the kids with them or something. Or try and force some poor sap at the club to play Warhost in 10mm.
Gotta get some more dwarves. Can't emphasize enough how good these dwarves are, really. probably wait till the game box comes out though. And maybe then just a few of the skellies, and the elfies, and the horsemen... and then hopefully there's eventually going to be some monsters and whatnot, too.
