@Stephen Chalkley I believe these are the same bases included in the fantasy battle box sets. If that's the case, they are for casualties or command figures. I have opted for different basing than ...
@timbus the thirteenth they are indeed dice frames (from Pendraken). The rules I intend to use are Fantastic Battles by Nic Wright. In his game mechanics, bases have a factor called "resolve" which...
Using the holiday break and copious amounts of dry brushing and inking, I finished all of the Boneblades, with the exception of the command stands. Nine total bases of sword and shield armed skelli...
Managed to paint up the majority of a sprue of the Boneblades (I didn't paint the command stand yet). They paint easy and they paint quick. Very pleased with the results and look forward t...
@Stephen Chalkley there are quite a few options out there: Warmaster Historicals: older favorite with familiar mechanics to things like Black Powder, etc. Uses 40x20mm basing as provided in box se...
I finished the 6 bases of Orc archers (front row behind the command bases) which effectively renders this project complete. The box provided enough figures for me to field: 6 bases of sword and shi...
@Bertrand du Guesclin Bertrand, I wouldn't say I'm a fast painter...I just wanted to have everything I will need. Unfortunately this also means that I have some rather large collections of l...
Well, the pre-order came out. Thank goodness. I placed an order for a set each of the French and English as well as a set of the fantasy dwarves (to oppose my orcs) and a set of the bone blades. I ...
@Marc Hameleers I feel much the same way. I'm sure some matters can't be controlled or sped up...however I was hoping to add these to various holiday wish lists and I'm not sure the timing w...
That post with the images mentioned that the box sets will be 700 figures each. That's going to be a lot of painting. Look forward to the challenge.
Managed to get the swordsmen and command stands finished up. Used a few of the casualty figures to tart up some of the swordsmen bases. Next up are the archers which will complete the army. I'm ver...
@Bertrand du Guesclin Thanks for the kind words, as for the time it takes to paint... that's a hard question to answer (although a good one). I have a friend who times his painting sessions to know...
I generally don't paint or game too much fantasy stuff these days but I've had my eye on the Wargames Atlantic Orcs for a while now. I picked up a box and started painting them. I'm about ha...
It seems like there hasn't been a weekly update from WA the past few Fridays. Saint Crispin's Day has come and passed and I keep hoping to see an announcement for the release of these two ar...
@Brian Van De Walker absolutely the rules can be used for other periods to include fantasy. I only mention the Midgard conmection because I recall, years prior to the release of the rules, there we...
Bronze age Northern Europeans could fit in with a ruleset like Midgard. They can also do double duty for fantasy armies.
I wonder how long it takes from box design to being ready to order? I really can't wait to get my hands on these army sets. I am curious what they will retail for.
Any idea when they are scheduled to go on pre-order or released? It's seems like they have been progressing slower than other releases. I am very excited for the release of these figures....
