Azincourt in Grand Battle Scale!

Azincourt in Grand Battle Scale!

Rob Macfarlane has been a busy boy and hard at work on the next Grand Battle Scale 10mm range: Azincourt!

Here are some examples of the models that you'll find on the frames for the English and French.  Future releases will expand the range once we have the core forces for the battle out.

We're doing a few tests on the spear thicknesses and the position/thickness of those may change depending on how that turns out. There's a little more work and additions to be made before these head off to tooling - but they are on their way!

The Classic Fantasy Battles Orcs in Grand Battle Scale 10mm are in the tooling process now. And the next set are in the works. There is also another GBS range in development.

I’m really hoping these are available before Christmas. I have been trying to decide what figures I should use for Test of Resolve’ HYW rules variant and now I know the answer.

Hello, Nice set.
For me they are gonna be German crusaders and Hussites. I just hope they will be out for Christmas.

Is there any word on when these will be available for ordering? Loving how they look already and am exciting to get them.

Any chance of barded or caparrisoned horse so we can add some heraldic designs to the cavalry? Would also fit well with fantasy forces to oppose the orcs you are making.

I see the spears have been improved… hoping for the best.
- I would reduce the spears in height even a little more, on an epic scale you don’t notice the difference, and it would improve resistance.
- the single horse with both front legs forward is quite ugly.
- I would separate the crossbowmen from the Pavises, so you have the possibility of creating crossbow skirmisher (without having to detach each crossbowmen from the pavise…)
- I’d love to see some infantry holding up the pavises. It’s probably how they were historically used, and it would also allow to obtain infantry with pavises. Or infantry with a front row of pavises…
Keep up with the good work !
and…. please… pay attention to spears and weapons… these must be usable for play !

Steven – that is actually exactly how horses gallop. Have a look at the famous Muybridge photos.

These look good – but some feedback from having recently put together a few stands of the Samurai

1) make sure the weapons are robust enough to survive clipping off the sprues.
2) Have fewer contact points to the sprues – compare with some other small scale plastic figures
3) Some of the figures look quite flat – may be the renders – but try to get as much 3d variance in as possible.
4) This flatness is more evident on the strips (both these and the Samurai) and may be a factor of making strips (Warmaster metals were quite flat too)

Looking forward to these and the Orcs and any other fantasy or medieval plastics!

Oh, no. You still have included that stupid horse pose with both back legs in the air. That horse pose belongs in a rodeo, Horses do not run like that.

Super excited for these – they look great! Yes please to both thick durable spears and pikes etc. Personally I would prefer already moulded on plastic flags and banners – so much quicker than fiddling around with paper flags that always look crap around the poles when I do them! Perfectionists who prefer paper flags can always cut them away…

Mike Kirkham-Ingram - September 20, 2024

These look very nice and I will definitely be picking theses up, would it be possible to make some of the command stands without banners so we can use paper ones instead of trying to paint something really tiny.
