Napoleonics in the Wash

Although we had previously shown off the Spanish, our first two Napoleonic releases are something different. As we've mentioned before, until we put something on pre-order the schedule can adjust because of changes to layouts, re-sculpting, room on specific molds, and other things that crop up.

This kind of delay has happened to the Spanish. They are still on the way just taking a bit longer than we planned. In the meantime, other Napoleonic projects have leaped ahead. One is finished in tooling this week and the box is designed. The other is in the final stages before going to tooling and those parts are in the picture above. These are 3D prints being washed to go to the painter. And Peter Dennis has just delivered the illustration for that box today.

What are you you ask? We're not telling just yet. But if all goes to plan you'll be seeing them in your friendly local game shop in January or February.

So excited for the Spanish, but I really hope the poses are for ‘action’ and suitable for skirmish games (loading, firing, charging) – there are already lines available for all nations in the traditional march/attack pose. Looking at the picture, it seems most of these are in that orientation……

Plastic Napoleonic era Ottomans/Mameluke/North Africans (Barbary Pirates) are definitely a gap in the market. Right now I am having to kitbash/convert from other kits.

Generic European sailors would be nice to fill a couple of eras and game systems, historical and fantasy. Something to compliment the sailors coming from Firelock Games next year perhaps?

As would generic European civilians that could serve as villagers, savants/scholars, doctors, merchants etc. for games like the Napoleonic narrative driven skirmish game Sharps Practice from Too Fat Lardies and the Napoleonic Gothic Horror skirmish game Silver Bayonet coming from Osprey Publishing next year.

Indian sub-continent figures, both military and civilian would be great. For civilians, something that could be kitbashed with the Afghans already in production would be great. The Sikh Wars and Mutiny are popular conflicts for wargaming and lack substantial multi-part plastic kits.

Plastic American Napoleonic era figures would be nice, not just for War of 1812 but the Barbary Coast conflict as well as other potential fictional conflicts, such as the US allying with Napoleon or open conflict with Spain.

Speaking of the Americas and Spain, Napoleonic era Native Americans for Lewis and Clark Expedition gaming as well as allies of Canada/Great Britain during 1812. Potentially this could be another multi-era concept depending on kitbashing options on the sprues. Maybe something to compliment/update the older Wargames Factory/Warlord Games Native Americans.
