DIGITAL PRODUCT

Gebirgsjäger were Germany's light infantry mountain troops. They traveled with less equipment (but more ammunition) and operated independently in mountainous and snowy terrain.

This four figure set (puddle and non-puddle bodies) let's you equip a unit with standard rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, and more.

Generally very good representation of Gebirgsjaeger

Very nice figures. The arms go on nicely, and even in combinations beyond the ones pictured, allowing for even more variety. The winter gear, rucksack and mountain boots are well done.

A couple of nits to pick, though. There's no option for an MP-40, which was carried by all NCOs. That would also require magazine pouches on the body. The machine gunners carried a pistol and a pouch for MG parts, but these gunners are equipped like all the other figures. There's no option for a slung rifle, so if you use the binos or ice axe, the figure is otherwise unarmed.

I've never seen a photo of Gebirgsjaeger wearing the round wheel hat. A more useful head would have had a helmet, although of course the Bergmutze make the Gebirgsjaeger instantly recognizable.

Finally, you can tell Wargames Atlantic is a plastics company, with all the separate heads and arms. With a little work, though, you can attach these in a 3d program and print them as one piece. It would be really nice if there were a guide to show which arms were designed to work together!

Photo is a jaeger 3d-assembled and printed as one piece. An example of the unique pieces you can create with this set.
