Byzantine Skoutotai in padded armor
DIGITAL PRODUCT
As the Eastern roman empire adapted to the changing political, cultural, and military requirements of the early middle ages, so did its troops. Late Roman Limitanei and comitatense infantry became Skoutotai,
Due to concerns over the treasury, in many cases these troops were unarmored, or at best wore padded armor. This set is intended to create such troops, especially those in the eastern provinces. Combine with our earlier armored set to bring your early byzantine armies some variety.
