The first Chyweethls were built in the late 1640s and a model of the Chyweethl has been in service with the Coftyran Mechanical Corps ever since. The only thing the modern design has in common with its older brethren is overall shape and the use of the chained-pedrail system. There have been seven major revisions and countless smaller revisions over the intervening 140 years.

As with most of Coftyr’s tractor designs the Chyweethl forgoes a turret and instead uses the weight saved to mount a larger main gun. This requires the driver, commander and gunner to train together constantly. The limited traverse of the main gun requires the driver to assist in aiming by tweaking the throttles left and right to rotate the tractor.

The Chyweethl uses a chained-pedrail system for locomotion. The system benefits from ease of maintenance in the field and excellent cross-country ability. However, the system is extremely difficult to use on the newer paved roadways. Travel of just a few miles on pavement will require replacement of most of the pedrails and causes serious wear on the chained rail. This has made it difficult to strategically reposition Chyweethl equipped units.

Rules?

While I love the model! BUT I am left wondering when it will receive rules for the current skirmish game. Currently I can use it with my Quar if I run Bolt Action rulesets or a myriad of other ones. But even then I sort of have to come up with its stats for those. Fun to paint, makes for an impressive display piece.
