Dismounted Archers 1470
DIGITAL PRODUCT
Over the course of the fifteenth century medieval levies were slowly replaced by careerist soldiers raised according to ordonnances. Franc-Archers, the archers serving Burgundy in the Compagnies d'Ordonnance. For most of this period archers would be mounted on the march and dismount for combat.
This set is intended to represent these semi-professional archers, wearing helmets and either padded jacks or Brigandines. Due to their nature as mounted infantry, these men wear spurs.
