Death Fields Polish style cavalry.

  • If "The Greatest Sport is War" you don't just want your team to win, you want them to look good doing so.

As such it probably wouldn't be strange for somebody to pick up some Polish horsemen from history seeing as they were not only effective but usually looked good doing so.

The winged hussars/Husaria pretty much serve as the poster boys of the "bling of war" trope while on the battlefield pretty much every enemy of the PLC desperatly sought how to fight them with pretty much everyone reaching the conclusion of "don't" right up until social changes made the men wealthy enough to serve decide they no longer want to.

One can argue how effective the Ulans/Uhlans/Lancers of the Napoleonic wars really war but they were effective enough that most countries worldwide adopted lance as a weapon and the Polish style uniform that is now assosciated with the formation.

Though the 20th century saw the possibilities of horsemen diminish they still served as an elite formation and the Poles were no exception.

On a more practical point such a set in the Grognard style (aka lots of head options) would fit in with pretty much any existing or future army. Most countries had lancers that used Polish style uniforms and czapka/chapska (with the Germans probably using them the longest) while winged hussar helmets would fit in with Einherjar (and potential future medievalish armies) while later steel helmets or rogatywka hats would fit in with most modernish armies.

Here I offer some images that could serve as inspiration from what such a set could look like.
