Crecy-Agincourt Genoese Crossbowmen
DIGITAL PRODUCT
Genoa was famed for its mercenary crossbowmen throughout the medieval period. Organizing into teams defended by large pavise shields, these men were well trained and able to deliver ordered volleys upon the enemy. Unfortunately for the Genoese paid by the French at Crecy, their pavise would be left with the baggage train. Combined with the foul weather that stretched the strings of their crossbows, the Genoese were rendered almost useless.
We have chosen to portray the mercenaries France hired with their usual equipment and pavise, even though these would not have been used in the battle of Crecy. 4 bodies in a variety of poses, with arm and head options.
