Late Roman Cataphracts
DIGITAL PRODUCT
Originating in Persia, Cataphracts are a form of heavy armoured cavalry. Utilized by many kingdoms and empires throughout history, the cataphracts were primarily known for the decisiveness of the shock tactics employed, as well as the amount of armour they wore. While it was not ubiquitous, the iconic outline of a cataphract is a fighter in armour from head to toe surmounting a similarly armoured horse.
Roman cataphracts went through several distinct phases. At first, the empire took on the services of mercenary cataphracts such as the Sarmatians. Eventually, units of Equites cataphract became regular army units in the Roman Military.
These parts are designed to be used with our plastic horses available separately. There are 3 unique horse heads and Armor and four unique rider bodies along with weapons and shields and a variety of heads. Horses are not included.
