The "Old confederation" of the Swiss refers to the group of eight cantons (locales) that joined together to deal with common interests and to ensure peace across the regions trade routes. The Swiss trained military units for defense and as mercenaries, and became known for their apparent invincibility upon the field.

Many weapons were used by the Swiss. To counter pike formations, as well as ward against cavalry attacks, they turned to halberds. These heavy weapons combined all the chopping power of an axe with the point of a spear and a hook off the spine which would have been used to grapple.

During the 1470s, the Swiss came into conflict with the Burgundian State, and its Duke Charles the Bold. This conflict would be known as the Burgundian Wars, and spell the end of Charles and his Dukedom as an independent realm.

This set aims to recreate Swiss Halberdiers from the Burgundian wars with options for lightly armored and heavily armored troops in a variety of poses.

Swiss Pikemen

I recently printed out this file, the pike shafts are quite thin so there is a lot of bend and risk of braking, I wish they were thicker so this wouldn't be such a worry. I noticed the heads seem out of scale with the rest of the bodies as well. The heads look very small compared to other kits and files in the range.

We've seen this problem on some of the shafts and are adjusting. You'll be able to download the new version when finished. Thanks!
