Atlantic Digital - Choose the Theme!

We have been preparing for some time now to launch a new product category for Wargames Atlantic: Atlantic Digital! Over the last week or so we've been previewing some of the models, multi-part sets, and characters that will be part of Atlantic Digital.

Our goal at Wargames Atlantic has always been to make as many highly detailed plastic box sets as we possibly can (37 and counting in three years now)! And we will always be pushing to get more and more of them out to you each month. As we’ve put in place the system we use now to make those hard plastic sets - design, sculpting, Freeform and mold engineering, tooling, injection, packaging, fulfillment, and distribution - we’ve realized we can do a lot more.

We’ve also always wanted to just make MORE STUFF! We have so many ideas and so many talented people that it’s a shame that not everything we design can be made in plastic. Some things are just not right for the plastic production process (too many undercuts or needing too many fiddly parts) and some things maybe can’t justify the enormous expense of mold tooling, mass production, and packaging.

Every month Atlantic Digital will release a mix of new products for all 11 of our current ranges (9 historical ranges, Classic Fantasy, and Death Fields and maybe others as we grow). These products will be spread across the following categories: full multi-part sets, character figures, conversion parts for existing plastic sets, terrain, and vehicles. These will be available in the following formats:

  • Massive STL file release via a MyMiniFactory Tribe with a monthly membership
  • Individual STL files and file sets sold via MyMiniFactory and soon on our own site
  • Physical manufactured models through Only-Game and soon on our own site
  • Physical manufactured models available through distributors and retailers across the world

This will allow those who print their own miniatures to have access to everything and those who just want physical models to be able to order and receive them in the post just like our plastic sets.

As part of Atlantic Digital we'll also be asking you to vote on things to make, suggest characters and figure sets or accessories, and generally be a big part of the process. This will let us make more of what you want much more quickly while you wait for each plastic set to be released. And some of the things that start off in Atlantic Digital will also make it into hard plastic sets later (and you'll be part of that too!)

The first part of this new journey will be launching soon at MyMiniFactory, but in the meantime we want you to tell us where you want us to go next. The first month's release is massive with something for everyone (and much more than we've teased on the Forum and social media). Going forward each month's release will be built around a theme. Help us pick the December 2022 theme below!

I’m very excited your going to offer digital products but please work with a supports company. I’ll get most of your ranges if I can just put them in my machine and print. If I have to spend extra time redoing your supports I’ll look elsewhere.

‘Also, Chindits and Gurkhas, I find the campaign in Burma is all but forgotten by most companies, especially in plastic.’

Forgotten? They never knew we were there in the first place. :)

While I think sci fi and modern civilians is honestly my most wanted vacuumed to fill I think that’d be better served as a full boxed release.

My suggestion for digital releases would be vehicles. The universal feel (I hesitate to use the word generic because the kits have too much flavor for that) of yall’s kits lend well to so many uses (wargaming and beyond) that having a more generalized vehicle source (especially for scifi) that was in line with your design scale would fit the same spot perfectly. Having a low cost, better scale and more realistic alternative to some other wargames that will be left un named would be pretty damn great and fill in a void in the market.

25-28mm scale is sorely lacking in choices for good tanka, apps, trucks, cars, and bikes that have a universal appeal and aren’t cartoonists oversized.

And I mean mecha are pretty cool too!

I would pay silly money for a Middle Kingdom Death Fields force. I will buy anything Deathfields to be honest, but I’m a sucker for ancient Egypt in particular.

I’m really glad you went with an option for those of us who can’t 3d print. I live in a shoebox of an apartment so 3D printing isn’t a great option for me.

Civilians for the periods that are covered . These figures could represent agents or spies or just plain civilians with their own objectives.

I voted skirmishers, would love to see some continuation war Finns in the future.

Also, Chindits and Gurkhas, I find the campaign in Burma is all but forgotten by most companies, especially in plastic.

Modern infantry of any sort please. Your plastic 28mm production is superior and there isn’t really anything along these lines out there.

A set of just a bunch of heads would be great for kitbashing. Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Undead, all of it.

i have a few ideas A/ since you have covered napolionic horse why not make cavalry in great coats with verius heads this way you could do a whole army s cavalry in one box set from heavy, lights dragoons hussars to ulans and lancers Also with cavalry in great coat the tooling and disign time is sorter the only serious disign is the heands and you could get numerous armys cavalry out in a sort time B/ box sets of napolionic command consisting of genrals and adcs If this box set is worked out correctly peaple would want multy box sets to build from 2 fig command bases up to or 6 fig command for main command base Box set could build regiment brigade and division up to corps corps personally i am doing a write up and painting guide for the 9th for our next charity event I think the box set is a fig sort Maybe as a re tool id add a rifleman layng down fireing as they where trained to do D/ I think maybe a box set of cornels with command of mt officer standard musian and foot command ??? which would cover line and light infantry
