Conquistador Cavalry Update!

Conquistador Cavalry Update!

As soon as the Conquistador Cavalry set met it's $6000 goal in Vox Populi we started to do the final refinements, part additions, and organization of the files to get it ready for a final layout.

Many of you called to add pistol arms and more full helms to the set. Rob has given some options for both matchlock and wheel-lock pistols here. Let us know what you think of these options.

Not all the parts we've shown will fit but we are going to work (like we always do!) to give you a huge number of options and variety in the set.

Any parts that don't make it into the final plastic set will be available as digital add-ons once the set is released. Let us know your thoughts below!

Useful additionsthat could turn them into Reiters/cuirassiers. Probably do for Thirty Years’ War prior to cuirassiers merging with ‘Light Horsemen’.

The helmets are good. I really hope you can keep at least one dog.

Personally I still think the pistols should just be an STL add-on part for the conquistadors or used elsewhere so they don’t weaken the kit (9 rider kits are kinda of sad for non-bow using Euro cavalry kits) or become a lousy argument against doing proper reiters later on, sorta of like how pike sprue in the conquistador infantry kit kinda of kiboshed proper European pikemen of the same and slightly later time frame while not exactly being the best replacement for them. (not to mention the conquistadors did not seem to actually use pistols and the are a remarkably bad horseman weapon since they spook the horses right out from under the rider, its likely one of the reasons heavily armored cavalry went out of fashion in Europe we don’t talk about),

That said if your going to the darn things, instead of doing these pistols all as right handed arm poses, do 2 of them left handed and do 2 of the swords left handed (at least the swords). If you can only add one pistol to the sprue, make it a left handed weapon, makes the part more useful overall.

Also you should probably do the wheelocks which where at least really used by Western Europeans (albeit several decades later on and mostly against Turks and European piketroops not in the Spanish colonial conquests), unless your really want to dirve home the point that these are fantasy parts which might not be a bad idea considering that was the main reason folks kept asking for them. You could even go full hog and turn them into matchlock revolvers which would be fun*.

Brilliant.
Ant chance of adding digital capes ?
Then I can use these as Border Reivers too.

Brilliant.
Any chance of some optional capes probably as digitial extras given their size but then I can use these for my Border Reivers too.

Love these additions. They will give me some great options for my Sword Weirdos Swashbuckler!

Very very cool pistols, but matchlock pistols is not a very common thing, wheel all the way when you look at 16th century sources (remaining pieces and written sources).
