Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

We have a lot of great things in the works for our new Decline and Fall range with the first set Late Roman Legionaries (1): Lorica Hamata coming out soon.

Along with the Romans in mail we have a set of Goths and also two Army Builders for the Romans and the Goths (60 figures each). The main boxes will provide enough command elements to outfit several units when combined with the Army Builder boxes.

This range has several other sets in the works but we wanted to give you the choice as to which ones would come soonest.

To that end here is a survey to mark down your First, Second, and Third choices. Let us know if you have other ideas below. There are no cavalry sets listed but those will be coming later as well.

How about Huns? There is a big need for Huns (mounted and dismounted) in plastic!
Also it would be great to see generic Romans/Goths in scale armor

To support my comment of enemies of Rome it would be great to see
Welsh (Cymri)
Scots/Irish
Picts (Caledonians)
Early Saxons/Angles/Jutes

Am curious about the army builder box sets and how they differ from the main box late Romans. Maybe in a more fixed pose?

Huns could be a good choice and depending on the head options, could cover several different nations horse archers.

Have read quite a few of these suggestions but a lot of guys are suggesting duplication of already done subjects, possibly not a sensible business decision and plastics need to sell big to make money.

A plea to those planning to buy any of the Roman sets:

Unless I’ve misunderstood, these sets will include enough of three different patterns of helmet for every figure in each box. That will leave a LOT of unused heads.

While one of the helmet styles is best suited to Middle Imperial Romans, the other two types are correct for Late Romans and/or Goths.

A rival manufacturer makes plastic Late Roman and Goth figures, and frankly many of the helmets in its sets (of which I have a few in the plastic pile) leave a lot to be desired in the historical accuracy and proportion department compared to the WA versions I’ve seen in photos on this site. When I learned of the impending release of the WA sets I decided to hold off assembling mine in the hope that I’ll somehow be able to obtain enough WA heads to replace all or most of the offending parts – so, rather than discard your unused heads could you please save them and find a way to pass them on to those in need.

Thanks
