We've been seeing a lot of hints at this new Deathfields team. I wonder if these will be the full army the Fireside post was talking about? I was kind of hoping for Einherjar, Oohra, or Rebell Yell...

@Red Bee Well the glorious return of Warhammer Fantasy Battles of course ;)
Just dropped: I have no real interest in the late Roman Empire, but I really like this type of upgrade kit. Psst..... Panzer Lehr Panzerschreck.
@JTam My guess was comms device. On first seeing them I thought it might be a chunkily modeled piece of hanging fabric, just a little ornament, but looking at their official painted references they...
@Yronimos Whateley this is exactly what I was looking for as a type of sword even if it isn't a sword bit conversion. The warband member is titled ' duelist' that uses a heavy cloak like a shield ...
They seem to be progressing nicely:
@Nigel Jones I assume it's just to sci-fi it up a bit. (I've never seen a shako/or bearskin worn with a gas mask either). Maybe a small radio/comms vane? A miniaturized IFF...
@Yronimos Whateley I was actually fortunate enough to see a real Giradoni rifle at the National Military Museum, Bucharest, Romania. Pictures here: https://wargamesatlantic.com/community/x...
I just mentioned a couple of examples which I have actually used as an illustration. Also there is plenty of potential for use of plastic spares from the likes perry, victrix and even warlord games.
@Paul Mitting Might be worth having a word...
I'm glad to see the huge variety of minis available today - it's really a golden age for this sort of thing! But, I think my favorite developments have been all the Renaissance, Victorian, and WWI...
@JTam - glad you enjoyed that! :) The Victorian era tends to get all the attention for that sort of innovation, but the 18th Century seems to have spawned quite a few weird and i...
Brian's conclusion sounds fair enough to me - a couple searches for things like "Toledo side sword" and the like conjure up results that seem reasably close: Looks like these sorts of blad...
I was looking back on these and had a question. What is that device on the left sides of all the shakos? The rectangular bit. I've never seen that on a historical piece.
@Brian Van De Walker yes, I know, I also have some Gripping Beast boxes. Their problem is that GB normally have one arm already as part of the body. I am waiting to see how the amy builder boxes a...
@JTam those are some gorgeous minis. I have absolutely no idea what I'd use them for, but I need a full set tonight.
@Vitor Soares I don't know on that, Gripping Beast already has 40-44 figure kits (ie armybuilders or close enough for practical purposes) that cover for Late Romans and Goths, though I well admit W...
@Maximus Bravo They have released the first 7 sets so you should have them in your MMF library.
@Nanashi Anon Nice idea. The Oerlikon cannon seems about the right size. It got around so it could come with a Commonwealth crew as well. Although to the very best of my...
For the " Seadogs" themed World Ablaze set, since every nation's marines, Japanese SNLF, and Kreigsmariner already have plenty of plastic options, how about a US Navy gun crew with a mounted M...
Dropped today 28 April 23: Nice. Come out with these in plastic and cue the "Shut Up and Take My Money" meme.
@Yronimos Whateley The Chaplains and Corpsmen idea is a good one. Always been healers/surgeons/medics and Priests about when it comes time to make war.
@Vitor Soares You were right about more on the way. Heavy Cavalry started shipping today:
@Brian Van De Walker of course, any non European faction will have a lot more market, most players have already a loy of options in that area, as you said, or have already armies. However, the pot...
@Yronimos Whateley Great stuff you shared!
Sneak Peak for 28 APR 23: Plastic Traitor Guard?! Awesome. If WGA pushes out Traitor/Beat-down Guard Infantry, Ogryns, and Rough Riders at about the same time they are going to ha...
@Yronimos Whateley I had no knowledge of the Puckle Gun. Thanks for sharing that. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puckle_gun The Wiki article needs some work. "There may have...
@Frank Reischmann Looking forward to the update/group shot!
@Steffen Seitter That's exciting! Was this from their Facebook?
@JTam Thank you very much... All 5 STUGs are now built and painted, the weapons have been magnetized and all models can be used with the hatch closed as well as open with tank-commander. If there ...
I most definitely can find a lot for these lovelies 😘
@Dennis Horne I was actually happy with mine, although it has made me cautious of future orders 🤔
Warlord Games are Working on Hail Caesar Epic Battles: They look like Marian Romans from Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars to me. Lets hope they also will bring Pontic and Late Ptolemaic Egypt Armies.
@Vitor Soares@JTam All true, which is the problem with almost anything Roman (unless we are talking maybe byzantines or really early stuff) and while we are at Europeans from Anceint to Dark ...
@Dennis Horne I got the early issue of the Robots and have not heard anything at this time. Maybe because I didn't complain about the scale to them directly?
@Dennis Horne You can pretty much add in all the other 3rd party part makers at that rate practacly. It would be a pretty long list.
@Yronimos Whateley Actually from what I can tell based on extermly shallow research I think the swords in the kit are supposed to be Toledo made short swords that we would likely class as sid...
@Barry Evans other manufacturers supply stuff which can be used I have used these true 28mm weapons for my cannon fodder militia CP models 28mm Weapons This Heresy Officer upgrade kit was origi...
@Bill Thomas @JTam @Geoff Maybury @Paul Mitting @Charles Tottington Last week I finally got a refund from MMF for those underscaled 'Bots ordered last December. As part of that discussion, ...
With the caveat that I'm not likely to be a regular digital customer, I do enjoy the themes, and think that much of the digital content is wonderfully imaginitive, original, and different! Wi...
Theme Subterranean, Classic Fantasy: Perhaps Troglodytes And/or Morlocks Alternatively, perhaps skeletons emerging from the ground to compliment the WGA plastic skeleton kit. ...
@Frank Reischmann Missed this. Fantastic work. Great pictures!
Excellent info! Thanks for contributing to this.
Just dropped 26 April 23: Pretty cool. I like it. I personally find the Polish contribution to the Napoleonic Wars fascinating.
@JTam yes, I think that train has passed. Unfortunately for WA, the Late Roman kits from Victrix are really, really good, and more are coming. I believe that WA will have great kits, but take my c...
Honestly if I was WGA I would just drop the Late Roman kits. Victrix well and truly beat them to the punch. The Victrix Late Roman kits are beautiful, extensive, and at a good price po...
Nice! The bearskin heads still have that jaw piece but let's not nitpick. This also sounds like nitpicking... But I just realized the other big problem: No Ripperguns (aka...
Theme Subterranean, Death Fields: Ye Old Mole Mortar. The Einherjar seem like a prime choice to wield it. Or perhaps the set could be the weapon system with multiple arms so mo...
