option to buy single sprues would be nice

  • Alright, so I'm going to preface this by saying that I know next to nothing about how production works, so this might be a much larger request than I'm imagining. With that said, there's a really nice system a couple of other wargames companies do, where you can buy a single sprue of some kits rather than committing to a full box. It's a really good option for me as a skirmish gamer/kitbasher. Especially with the recent pricing changes, it can be rough having to commit to a full kit when you only want a couple models. With that said, WGA doesn't to my knowledge have a system like this, and I'm kinda curious if it would be hard to implement? The only thing I can think of as a problem is maybe packaging.

Anyways, I was wondering if anybody else would want a feature like this. WGA does so many nice kits that I'd like to toy around with but don't need 20-30 models of. And obviously there's eBay, but I usually prefer to buy from the manufacturer directly. Thoughts?

  • Depending where you live you may find resellers who split the boxes. It can be quite poor return for the WA, but I would welcome this option as well.
There's Sprueshop UK and Battle-models in PL who sell WA stuff for sure.

  • @timbus the thirteenth I would just buy from McDougle Designs if ebay is off the table since I live in the USA.

  • For Australia, The War Library do reasonable deals. A sprue of 6 zombies is AUD$12.95 vs the current AUD$60.87 for the 30 figure box (5 sprues) direct from WGA. Shipping costs mean you probably want to bank up a few sprues.

From WA's point of view the reseller has paid them normal retail (probably including a bulk order and shipping discount) and they have their money. No one is losing out.

Sometimes North Star in the UK put up single sprues, often as part of bundle deals. Currently the WGA Guards are available there.

  • @Mark Dewis hmmm, that makes me wonder who is sprue selling in Asia and Latin America.
