Twilight 2300AD @ "Hello from someone who as missed you all".

  • "Real World, Com " has played havoc with the lives of our family, but that's for another time, I`ve said before how much just being able to converse with you lot is good for this old farts brain cells, and by god I`ve missed it. I've been  just dropping by seeing all the magnificent new sets the Agents, and other Pulp,The Iron Core, Werewolves so many new and great lines. But not signing on as my time got even more rigid, I couldn`t post. I needed to  have the banter and discusions we had, J-Tam, Grumpy, the two Bills, Brian, Yronimus, John the list goes on. Well one thing has brought me out to make an attempt to get back  to modelling and this forum.

Twilight 2300 this game was with us from its start, for those not familiar, it follows the history of another game called Twilight 2000, both designed by Game Design Workshop. Twilight 2300 follows on from the terrible world war of 2000, in fact, some of the game features descendants of the earlier one. It is a rough and ready space adventure. Think Firefly and any early colony Space Above and Beyond type scenario. Has real gritty, French , American, Mancurian and other fields of space. It has various Aliens and offer, in my opinion, one of the most varied for combat Alien species, the very deadly Kafers.

So it is with absolute delight that I found out Wargames Atlantic has teamed up with Mongoose Games and between them they are bringing back in a new printed full colour form, rules and source books by Mongoose and figures by Wargame Atlantic. The figures will be some of the most conversion possible as the time period for colony worlds will allow swapping with the Agents and many other Pulp ranges.

I hope to dig out my old figures, buildings and vehicles and although dated, they may still work. This will be an amazing field of play and a great time for someone wishing to play this type of Space adventure. May we all reach for the stars together.  All the best, Geoff and Eileen.

  • Welcome back, I've been missing you, too, wondered where you'd gone to!  I was out for most of a year for a series of eye surgeries where I'd gone blind, I can see again now, and I'm healing up enough to get back into this hobby again.  I noticed you were gone when I'd gotten back, it's great seeing you here again, I hope that everything is going well for you!

I can't wait to see what the Twilight 2300AD sets are like - I don't remember that game specifically, but I do remember Twilight 2000 from back in the '80s and '90s, and always enjoyed the setting, never could find anyone interested in playing it (there were so many other RPGs we were into back then!)  The sequel looks like it'll be fun, too.  And, Wargames Atlantic's Pulp products have been my favorite new development for WGA - the survivors and agents in particular look like some of the most useful sets for me, yet!  Between the agents, survivors, and operators, the Twilight 2300AD sets, the Iron Core sets, the Cannon Fodder, the Ooh-Rah!, The Damned, and the upcoming crewmen set for the game based on The Expanse TV series, Wargames Atlantic is covering a LOT of great Near-Future, Post-Apocalyptic, Used Future, and Cyberpunk territory, and I'm loving it.  Can't wait to see what the future brings for them!
