Weird War Conversions set - Helmets/Nationalities?

  • Does anyone have a list of which helmets are 'more likely' to be used for which armies in the conflict? The two furred hats are Russian, the horned and hooded head could be used for just about any army, the two feral heads also could be used for any force, but what of the six others?

There's one morian-esque helmet with a german-like spike on the top and a face shield.

    A morian-esque helmet with a gas mask.

Then there's a stalhelm, with a face shield.

A head with what looks like a paratrooper helmet with a gas mask and a distinctive decorative fin.

A head with glasses and a cap that I can't identify.

And finally a Brodie helmet with a beaked face shield, which one could presumably identify as a British head.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

  • i don't think they were meant to be faction specific, just various helmets. the two that are closest to being faction specific, the stalhelm and the brodie, seem to be based off some of the experimenting both sides did early in the war..

the stalhelm sxeems to be inspired by some of the experiments in face armor, though not any specific type i've been able to find. and the brodie looks like it has something inspired by the earliest gas protection (which were just cloth masks), though again, not based on any specific example i've been able to find.

  • @Jim Heath It was made with WW1 gaming mostly with Last Psalm in mind. So given Last Pslam is an RPG with lots of looting any faction can have those heads (and there is a bit of IRL history to back that since looting did happen though I don't think helmet swaping happend that often). But there are some guidlines to use them.

The stalhelm with face shield I am pretty sure is actually a real world helmet and face mask used by the WW1 German army for snipers and machine gunners:

If I had to guess about the rest outside the Brodie helmet (clearly British) I would say its a divide between British, French and Germans, maybe with some Italians, Russians,Portugese, etc. Allies thrown in if your going for real world factions with the helmets since IRL everyone was expermenting with helmets or you could also just use them as "anyone" helmets (which was likely the intent).

The only real thing of note is the morian style helmets are likely from the same faction due to the helmet design and I would add the finheaded parahelmet and horned guy head  to that faction cause the gasmasks match up (maybe a cultist faction?).

The cloth hat with glasses head can be any faction you want since its clearly a wizard or mage hat, but I recommend either Germans, Russians or British since given the style if we are talking about nations from our world and not isekai land.
