Grab Bag of Updates
Hello all, Hudson here with another random collection of "what's up at Atlantic". So without further adieu and in no particular order, here we go:
Mold Shipments to the US
We are still experiencing a massive delay by US Customs for molds that shipped from the UK back to the US. The first shipment left the UK on the 14th of August and here we are over a month later still trading emails, various paperwork, updated versions of the previous three versions of paperwork, etc etc ad nauseum...literally nausea. On my part at least.
Given that we seem to have gotten closer on which type of forms and powers of attorneys and etc they need with the back and forth on the first shipment, we bit the bullet and sent another batch of molds out on Monday and these are estimated to deliver in the US tomorrow. So we're holding our breath here to see if we've finally satisfied the Customs Gods.
So what does that mean - it means all our new sets are late to release in the US. Dwarven Host, Sharpe, Civilians & Survivors Men, Boneblades, and the Halfling Cavalry should already be in the hands of our US customers. We're really sorry about that and hoping the US Government speeds things up a bit.
How We Handle Out of Stocks/New Releases
If a product is out of stock or a new release is not yet in the warehouse that services your country (US warehouse for the US and the UK warehouse for the rest of the world), we have a new system in place. Along with the Release Schedule page which will always have the most up to date information and is a great place to keep an eye on, if a product is out of stock or not yet available in your warehouse, when you go to add it to the cart a pop-up will give you a warning to let you know. We hope this makes it a little easier to know what's ready to ship.
Ideally we would never have any out of stocks and new releases would be ready in the US at the same time as the UK, but given the above we haven't been able to hit that always. We do have a new inventory and component (i.e. empty boxes, plastic frames, dice, etc) tracking system coming online so this will help us stay on top of things.
One issue is that we are growing so fast (we've had 100% growth year on year since we started) that it's hard sometimes to forecast. But we're getting better!
Speaking of restocks we're in the middle of doing a bunch for the UK warehouse with 15 boxes being printed right now and molds being run. So hopefully we'll be all in stock in the next few weeks across the board.
A New-ish Way to Design Our Figures
When I first started Atlantic I used a variety of freelancers to sculpt our models (many of who became full time employees with us). As such we never really settled on a "house style". By this I mean a system whereby all the historical models were the same proportions and generally designed in a similar way. Working with Rob Macfarlane and Thieu Duong and the team over the last few weeks we've put in place the foundation of our house style going forward. We've just started the first plastic sets that will incorporate these elements and consistency and I'm looking forward to telling you more about it. I'll try to do so in the next few weeks once we have some good examples of the new figures and I can put together something a bit more visual. I think the kitbashers out there will especially like what we're up to!
New Sets in the Works
Lots of new ones in the works right now with additions being made to the Decline and Fall range, Blood Oaths, Renaissance, the World Ablaze WW2 range, Classic Fantasy, First Empires, Age of Reason, and more. Our goal in 2026 is to start significantly fleshing out the older ranges while we continue to support the Quar game, Barons' War, Classic Fantasy Battles, and Death Fields Arena. I'm hopeful that once these US Customs issues are behind us we'll be able to really ramp things up.
The Damned
Fulfillment is about to start up for the US while the last mold is en route to the UK and we're organizing the injection schedule over there. For those who missed out, once we get into fulfillment we'll have our first Damned products available for pre-order including a lovely little army box with a great mix of frames along with the Mauler! Damned backers should transition to following along at our Release Schedule page and here in our articles as we wrap up the project on Gamefound.
That's all for now. Thanks again for all your support and we are excited to get more games and especially more hard plastic out into the world as fast as we can!
