Stuff in Tooling - or About to Be!

Stuff in Tooling - or About to Be!

Today we're previewing a bunch of frames that are either in tooling - or about to be cut.

First up, the Vox Populi Conquistador Cavalry and the second Cavalry set we added - the Renaissance Heavy Cavalry!

There were so many parts for this set we decided to divide it up into two unique sets. Both sets will be built on our existing Medium Horses and both sets will share a frame x 4 each of WAARN003/6x. This frame has all the heads, shields, and saddles for the two sets along with the doggos! And as we mentioned you'll get 4 in each box so that's a lot of doggos!

(This frame shares a mold with WAAGA007 Weird War One Conversion Parts. This is going to be included in the upcoming The Last War boxed game to convert our hard plastic WW1 figures!)

For the Conquistadors we have less heavily armored troops. The final parts are being added to this. They share a mold with our new dual-use 25mm x 50mm pill bases which will be sold separately!

And here are the armored guys:

Both cavalry sets will feature 12 horses and riders (although you'll actually get 16 riders in the heavy cavalry set)

Also being worked on are The Damned heavy weapons and artillery sets!

In order to fit more weapon parts on the frames we've moved the crew to a separate mold. Each set will share the crew frame. There was a bit of room left over so we've created a separate 50mm textured base product that will be sold separately.

Here is the heavy weapons frame:

And here is the artillery frame. Note that we've been able to include non-Damnified weapon shields so you can use these also for other armies without that distressed look:

We hope you like what you see. A bunch more of The Damned sets are in the tooling process now and the final piece of artwork is being done. We'll be starting production in the not too distant future!

I’d be interested to know more about why decisions are made for sprue space/tooling. For example why not just provide “clean” heavy weapon shields then have some small spiked accoutrements for players to evil them up? Seems it would save space. Today I assembled some Vain ogres and I noticed the guns and cannons would have been way more useful and re-useable for other projects if they didn’t have the left hand moulded onto them, and the hand just moulded onto the left arm instead.

nice to see big battle 10mm
Look forward to seeing 10mm ACW or Napoleonics.

How does the separate crew mold work with the singular extra sprues you can get through the gamefound project? Is it a 50/50 change to get either Guns or Crew or can the backers decide which one they want?

Models themself look great.

I’m really interested in the conquistador cavalry to build my empire army. I’ll probably buy a couple boxes when they come out.

Thanks for the update, looks great !
Do the armoured cavalry sprue include full barding for the horses ? I don’t see any barding for their backs.

I really really like the Weird World War bits and monsters – that stuff looks fantastic! I’d already been excited about what I saw of their Atlantic Digital counterparts, and I can’t wait to see these bits in hard plastic!

I love the Doggos, too, and I agree with @Adrian about the pile of spent shells and the ammo boxes and such in the artillery set – these are nice touches all around!

I also really hope there’s a set of Renaissance fighting-men in heavy plate armor similar to those Heavy Renaissance Cavalry guys – I have a feeling I wouldn’t be the only fantasy gamer who could find some uses for that sort of set. Great stuff!

Adrian - July 12, 2024

I like em all, but I wanna say the pile of the spent shells on the artillery sprue is a nice touch. I wouldn’t have thought to put it in the kit but definitely would put it on a built model. Great work as always

Do I see correctly that there are only 2 armored left arms for 3 riders on the armored sprue? One for use with a shield and one without.
That seems rather off compared to the amount of options for the right arms.

Drangir - July 12, 2024

I LOVE the addition of clear shields! It will increase the value of the set dramatically. I would prefer if the “damnification” weren’t just damage, I will need to fill some of the holes so I don’t notice them all being hit in same places :P
