The Bronze Age in Hard Plastic!

The Bronze Age in Hard Plastic!

As you could tell from the Release Schedule page we have a lot of irons in the fire behind the scenes with a number of "secret sets" in the works. Now we can reveal a little bit about what's to come starting with: Bronze Age!

Over the next few months - and years! - we'll be rapidly expanding on each of our original ranges with Blood Oaths, Decline and Fall, First Empires, and World Ablaze being the first to get additions in the near future.

First Empires is our catch all range for ancient ancients i.e. "From the Rise of Akkadia to the Fall of Alexander" (basically everything up to the Successors which will one day have it's own range). Our new Warring States Chinese will fit into this range with the first 3 sets finished tooling and two more behind them.

Over the last couple years we've developed 30+ digital sets for First Empires - you can see them all here on MyMiniFactory. We've now begun the process of turning many of these into hard plastic sets.

Our first release will be New Kingdom Egyptian Archers and Spearmen which will be followed by more Egyptian sets including chariots, Sea Peoples, Hittites, and then onto the Trojan War. We hope to have new releases for this range every 4-6 weeks going forward.

This range is something we have wanted to do for a long time as it's such an iconic part of history yet unrepresented in 28mm hard plastic...not to mention 10mm hard plastic...hmmm! We're excited to start getting these sets out to you and welcome all your feedback and advice along with requests for what you'd like us to make.

As our capacity increases we expect to significantly up the number of new releases so if Bronze Age, Dark Ages, World War 2 is not your thang - hold tight because lots more is on the way!

So exciting! Bronze Age is the period I always wanted to wargame but plastics were never available. This is a momentous occasion.

Troy! Troy! Troy! Troy!

I just want to say – thank you. The New Kingdom Egyptians were my most anticipated release from you, and truth be told, I was getting worried they got cancelled or postponed indefinetly, until seeing teasers for them on your BlueSky profile.

I have recently ben going through a major loss of a family member, so hearing about such great news from little things that make me happy, like my miniature painting hobby, really makes my days brighter. Cheers!

Always love to see more hard plastic. Trojan War stuff (including some what-if stuff like Amazons/female hoplites I hope) would be great fun. It would be awesome to reenact the duels of the Iliad.

“So, such was I in the ranks of men…or was it all a dream?”
-Nestor, Homer’s Iliad, Book VIII (Fagles translation)

“I fathered hero sons in the wide realm of Troy
and now not a single one is left, I tell you.
Fifty sons I had when the sons of Achaea came,
nineteen born to me from a single mother’s womb
and the rest by other women in the palace. Many,
most of them violent Ares cut the knees from under.
But one, one was left me, to guard my walls, my people—
the one you killed the other day, defending his fatherland,
my Hector! It’s all for him I’ve come to the ships now,
to win him back from you-I bring a priceless ransom.
Revere the gods, Achilles! Pity me in my own right,
remember your own father! I deserve more pity . . .
I have endured what no one on earth has ever done before—
I put to my lips the hands of the man who killed my son."
Priam, King by will of Zeus.

I am so happy that WGA are doing Egyptians in plastic. This has been overdue in the Ancient wargame community for so long and I know there will be a pretty good demand for these sets.

Hi Eric – I doubt you will ever see a 15mm figure by us. The reasons are here:

It would be awesome if you could also do these in 15/18 mm.

If one were to examine the current commercially available miniatures in 15/18mm; they are woefully lacking in ‘character’/heroes. While ‘ordinary’ infantry are available, as are chariots; chariot archers and the aformentioned heroes would be a great addition.
