Wargames Atlantic Goes Medieval!

Wargames Atlantic Goes Medieval!

We know...we know! We already have 11 ranges on the go but who can resist knights in shining armor and men in tights and chivalry and all that?

We've spent the last year studying the finest resources on the medieval period:

First, we decided this range would fit nicely between Blood Oaths (which ends around the time of the Norman Conquest) and our Renaissance range. The new range will be called The Age of Chivalry and will cover roughly 1067 through to the late 1400s where the Renaissance kicks in.

After much work and in close consultation with our friends Paul Hicks and Andy Hobday who are behind the excellent Barons' War range and rules, Rob Macfarlane has started work on the first plastics:

The first sculpts are for Foot Knights suitable for mid-12th through the early 14th century. He has also completed Sergeants, Levy, and some cavalry sets which will follow the knights in close order.

The first frame will include the following parts:

Here's some photos of some of the figures assembled and painted:

As you can see you can get quite a lot of variety, weapon options, and helmet types from the set!

Once we got started though, we got a bit excited and pushed it right through tooling too!

And then we figured, well this one is all set to go so let's get it on pre-order and shipped off to everyone as soon as possible!

Pre-order now! Shipping later this month!

Four other sets will be following this one in very short order! So you see, this isn't the April Fools' you thought it was!

Well for what it‘s worth: You gained me as a new customer through this. I always liked what your company offered but with piles of miniatures at home and more interested in 15mm for historicals I never ordered.

But this theme I will get and have already preordered knights.
With cavalry, sergeants and levy coming I am just wondering: won‘t there be bowmen and crossbow men? Those would complete the basic needs for an army.

What is your quest?

Great realistic desired news update vs announcements on April 1st. Hmm….

Great news, but it seems a little ealier for the 100 years war 🤔

Will there be shield transfers?

Holy Hand Grenade! What a fantastic kit, and a whole new range of awesomeness to come!

I think you may need to have words with Paul and Andy about their historical advice because I’m not seeing a white rabbit or a Holy Hand Grenade Antioch on that sprue, and “I think you’ll find…” those are well known period items, perhaps they will come with the coconut cavalry sprue?

Very nice looking Knights.
Since they’re releasing at the end of April, it makes sense that there’s no Age of Chivalry entry into Digital for this month, but hopefully once we get the May preview we’ll start seeing Chivalry stuff on the digital front as well.

In addition to what’s upcoming already (as per the article), I hope there’s a “Build a King” kot either in Hard Plastic or on the Digital front.
There’s a notable lack of non-metal “Kingly” figures about for wargaming, so it’d be a useful kit.
Also looking forward to what other kits you’d make based in this time period.

Do the mounted knights come with coconuts?

Gloster Models - April 1, 2024

What a brilliant idea, releasing these today so no one really knows what is going to happen…..

Adam - April 1, 2024

And now the most important question. Does this mean we will get another digital kit every month?
