Work in Progress!

Work in Progress!

We wanted to give a brief update on a few (not all) of the projects that are in the works right now. Every Friday in our weekly email we list most of the projects that are in process with their status. Things like: when the test shot (T1) date is, if boxes are being designed, figures are being painted for the boxes, etc to give you a ballpark idea of when they're coming. Of course nothing is for certain until we put it up for pre-order but this keeps you in the loop.

Here are a few that are moving right along that we thought we'd highlight:

Dark Ages Army Builder

The two frames for this are in tooling (the third frame will be the existing Dark Ages Shields frame) and you can see here what will be on them:

There will be 48 figures in the box. with head options to make them Goths, Saxons, in two types of helmets, or Franks (although we just didn't have room to fit more than 4 Frankish heads per frame but we'll be rectifying that with the future Merovingian Franks set!) A mix of spear, sword, and ax let's you build out a proper horde.

This set was part of Vox Populi and has been on pre-production order at a special rate of $34.95/£25/50CAD. That will be changing soon to the MSRP of $39.95/£30/55CAD. So get your order in now if you'd like to save!

Chinese Warring States

Equally popular in Vox Populi were sets to create a 28mm Chinese Warring States army. The files for this have all been prepped and are now in layout. Marco Capparoni is working on the artwork and we think it's going to be a beauty!

Classic Fantasy Battles Dwarven Host

Next up to meet the Orc Horde in battle is the Dwarven Host! Featuring a variety of units this set will form the core of any Dwarven army and plays a significant role in the army of the High Queen. File prep and layout is complete and these are off to tooling:

Satyr Brutes

Originally produced by our friends at RGD Gaming we recently acquired their plastic sets and will be doing some minor mold work to re-release them as part of the Classic Fantasy range. Their fantastic Satrys are up first and as they are quite big boys (about 33mm form hoof to eye) we have rechristened them the Satry Brutes! Peter Dennis has done some lovely artwork for the new box:

note: this is the pre-cleaned/pre-scanned version of the artwork

Survivors/Civilians

The second addition to our Pulp Advenure range is Survivors/Civilians. This VERY versatile set (like the Zombies) will, we believe, be highly useful for a wide variety of things in 28mm wargaming. We're not ready to show it all yet - the parts are currently in file prep prior to getting a layout in about a week or so. We'll just leave you with some of Chris Hindmarsh's painting and photography:

That's just a taste of things that are in the works at the moment. There will be a lot of things coming before these and there are a lot of plastic sets in the queue right behind them. Sign up for the weekly Friday email below to stay up to date on all the sets that are on the way including more for the Quar, Barons' War, Classic Fantasy Battles, Grand Battle Scale, and more!

I am super excited about those satyrs. Have been eyeing the forever but shipping from the states just wasn’t a feasible option.

I would love to run some 10mm or 15mm Fantasy minis alongside Imperial Romans. Always been a hobby dream of mine. Orcs/ barbarians vs. Romans, Dwarves, Greeks and allied Celts. Hopefully one day. SPQR.

I must agree with GrogGut universal body’s.
But I do darkage and The Walking Dead.

Dagobert - March 29, 2025

I need more 10mm Orcs. Maybe Siege Weapons and Goblins? Pretty Please? And a Mage or a Base full of a Mage Regiment? So many possibilities :D

Can’t wait to get my hands on those Survivors minis! Hopefully they’ll be more versatile than the Warlord Games ones. I’ll be keeping my eye out for more

I’m especially digging those survivors and the dorfs, even though I’ve never been inclined to game in that scale and I already have more dwarf figures than I know what to do with: the dwarfs just look darned cool!

Hopefully this won’t be the last “survivor” type of set: I’d easily buy modern survivor/civilians, pulp-era survivor/civilian/gangster/G-Man types, Victorians, Cowboys, cyberpunk gangers/sci-fi civilians, post-apocalyptic vault-dwellers and rad-suit/gas-mask goons, , blue-collar and worker types (factory workers, scientists and technicians, dock-hands and sailors., miners, lumberjacks..) and so on: probably not hugely useful for mass wargaming, but for RPG characters and skirmish gaming, these civilian sets – like the Peasant Levy, fantasy townsfolk, Partisans,Expanse crew, and Roman civilians – are all sorts of fun to experiment with for outside-the-box ideas. (I enjoy having the construction hardhat zombie heads in the Zombies kit for this sort of reason: thanks to those, I want to invent gaming scenarios as excuses to add zombie construction workers, miners, and/or maintenance workers to a game! Same for the zombie firemen and police officers….)

Anyway, can’t wait to see more detail on this civilians/survivors set.

A bit off-topic, but I caught a glimpse of the Digital Death Fields “S.N.A.C.K. Bots” earlier today, and absolutely adore them! The WWI tanks are also fantastic – can’t wait for Strange Plastic to add these items to their catalogue!

Great news about Satyrs, tho I must as, are there any plans to re-release the RGD Gaming Fauns and Centaurs you guys used to produce a long time ago? They were the only Centaur/Faun plastic kits on the market, and im sure im not the only one who really wants them back, especially as they’re out of production since several years.

Michael - March 29, 2025

I can see many possibilities with the Survivors/Civilians. I’ll certainly be purchasing multiple sets of these.
I can’t wait!

Jenks - March 29, 2025

need more photos on the warring states :< its too close to cathay release!

Kid Cthulhu - March 29, 2025

Can’t wait for those Warring States guys!
