This is a good set if you want to build basic command, officers, banner carrier, squirrel handler etc. It has a few options not available in resin like the musicians and cooks. That is fine.
What I felt was missing was parts for conversions to make each figure it's own character. There are few spare pouches or guns and all that. There is a nice arm holding what on the face of it is a mug, but where are the plates or bowels of moth cakes? Where is the big canteen type kettle for the cook to set up on a trestle table, in fact where is the table? I was expecting a little camp range type appliance when I heard that there would be a cook. Also loose guns to add a little detail to HQ areas or camps in general. You know three or four rifles meeting in the middle like a tripod. Maybe with a helmet of canteen over the exposed barrels to stop water getting into them should it rain.
A few extra grenades and different shaped pouches to adorn the figures, some alternative hat/helmet options to make the officers unique. Look at our own history from ww2, Montreal, Rommel and Patton, they all had distinct looks, you could tell which side they were on but each had their own style. There are no options for this type of customisation.
What about the odd bit of stowage to hang on vehicles?
So to recap, this is an excellent set, does what it says on the box, just that it could have been so much more. If you want to build your command squad and do not own the available resin models you will not be disappointed. If you are hoping to craft interesting unique characters, it will be tricky just from this box.
