"The Great War, World War, War to End all Wars, the only true name it has is the Last War, for now remains not enough people to fight another.

The War ended not with a bang but a cough and splutter. The disease that took hold spread far and wide. Few survived the fever and filth. With so few humans left those that dwelled in the night took up the arms of man to fight over what was left. Those scattered beings hunt the trenches of the last war for scraps, salvage and weapons."

Great Value (No Directions)!

This starter set comes with a massive amount of material not least of which is enough sprues for FOUR people to start a warband!

That being said, I’d say the lack of assembly instructions is a downside, here. You’re left fumbling around with bits trying to determine IF they go together or not.

Still and all, this is a great value with loads of options to assemble troops and to “convert” them into horrible abominations!

It's already a great game that I'm excited to see get this level of support. Looking forward to making some warbands with the new bits and playing games with all the play aids. There's no packing material inside the box at all so my rulebook was heavily damaged by the plastic sprues.

The Last War Box set

I played the game with a friend a while ago really enjoyed it.
The box set is a fantastic starter set. Hope the range expands to cover other things lurking in the strange fog covering the trenches.

Good starter

I have bought many starter sets and this one is good. There are enough models to start playing out of the box. I have only built one force so far, but I can easily build an opposing force to teach with. I would recommend fir any one looking to get into The Last War.

A gem of a game

Rules - Great, simple wargame at the skirmish scale based on the Last Psalm. The gameplay is face-paced. I use it in solo-mode a lot and I love how the game resolves actions in a simple, fast, no-nonsense manner. I can imagine this is a lot of fun in 2-player mode too.

The Box - Very clean and simple in design, but it is the little touches that I love - quotes form the rules on the insides and such. The lid is like the antidote to all those years of WH40K boxes with busy paintings... simple, clean, concise - and great.

The minis - You get a ton of them! 25 figures in terms of humans - but there are grubs and 'weird war' sprues too to really make the guys stand out. Admittedly, I kitbashed a few so I could use them in The Last Psalm too... The game has a very 'kitbash the minis yourself' vibe to it. So, I made some Wargame Atlantic werewolves with gasmasks as some of the badguys in the game, too!

Is it worth the money? Yes.
Is it a fun game? It sure is!
Do other people play it? We do!
Whats the community like? A little odd and crazy (in a good way)

How many Mud Ghoul hearts out of ten would I give it? 8.5-9.
