When I was looking at yesterday's email, I saw something about a Heiho game in a box. Now this was my first time hearing of this, and admittedly the very first thought to pop up in my mind was dwarves. If we are getting a dwarven game in a box this year then I'm excited.
Googling the term, I find 兵法 (Heihō) or "art of war". More literally "war system"
So I'd guess it's a game for the grand battle scale samurai armies. Perhaps with two each of the ashigaru, samurai, and command sprues, so two players can build a small army each.
@Charles Tottington Almost for sure the samurai.
Ah, a Grand Battle Scale samurai boxed set would make far more sense than anything I'd have imagined!
I was wondering about it myself - I noticed the reference in the last couple newsletters, but as far as I know it's the only place it has been mentioned, with no other detail.
I assumed it was one of the winners of the game-in-a-box contest that WA ran a couple months ago - my eyes have gone so bad, I really couldn't read much of the detail on any of the entries or winners for that, but I love the idea of the contest, and can't wait to see what comes out of it (I'm pretty sure the last couple newsletters also mentioned a secret surprise game-in-a-box in the works, apparently different from Heiho - not sure of any detail on that one either, can't wait to see more info!)
I never thought I'd be interested in the Grand Battle Scale or in the Samurai subject matter, but the previews for the GBS Samurai and the fantasy Orcs look like a lot of fun. If I didn't have more gaming stuff already than I know what to do with....
