FEROCIOUS WARRIORS INSPIRED BY CÚ CHULAINN

Descendants of the fierce Celtic people, the Irish engaged in constant warfare between tribes on their island and were famous for their raiders who took treasure and slaves from lands across the sea.

Irish dress and weaponry changed little from the fall of Rome through to the Viking era and beyond.

This box set will give you enough parts to outfit 30 28mm infantry with shields and weapons including spear, sword, sling, axe, and the iconic shillelagh. Also included are 10 Irish wolfhounds and parts to outfit command including musicians and standard bearers.

Models require assembly and painting. Bases are not included.

Irish Treasure

This set is an absolute treasure, brilliant for Irish warriors over a huge period.
I have used them as Dark Ages Irish, Picts/Scots and more recently as early Renaissane Irish and Scots.
Loads of great detail and full of character. They match up brilliantly with other WA kits and it was easy to kitbash them to represent Irish Kerns/Gallowglass models to go with the WA 3D printed sets I got from Strangeplastic.
A brilliant box of Irish Treasure for loads of time periods.
Highly recommended set to use straight out of the box or to kitbash with other WA sets.

Versatility and durability

These are incredibly versatile miniatures. So far, I've built 4 boxes of these excellent figures, who serve as Picts, Irish, Welsh, and Scots depending on the scenario. Most of these are light javelin-equipped foot soldiers with small round shields and bare heads. Bur I've also attached the capes and swords/clubs and larger shields to several units that serve as heavy infantry shieldwall troops. These have helmets that come from leftover Gripping Beast as well as WA. Finally, it only took some minor work to attach the bow & arrow arms from the Goth box to create archers to stand alongside the slingers. Final thought: these figures have thus far survived repeated handling by my ham-fisted wargame buddies with no breakage at all, These are far more durable than my Victorix figures, which need replacement swords and spears after every game!

Better than expected

I usually avoid plastic figures as they seem too fiddle for me. Since I had committed to field a "Barbarian" army for my gaming group, I decided to give plastics another try. This box has changed my opinion about plastics. The clean sculpts and easy assembly impressed me and encouraged me to bang out a sprue of five figures in one night.
The next time I need several figures in a hurry, Wargames Atlantic will definitely be on my short list.

Irish

The dark age Irish is a great set. Very versatile. All it needs now are some gallowglass or Irish foot nobles on mail with a mix of axe and throwing spear. Design your shields to be the same size as the gripping beast shields so the LBMS transfers fit them
