The stars have aligned for hard sci-fi fans and tabletop gamers alike! We’re thrilled to officially announce a ground-breaking partnership between Wargames Atlantic and Mongoose Publishing to bring the legendary 2300AD universe to life in miniature form. Whether you’re a veteran explorer of the French Arm or new to the gritty, near-future setting that made 2300AD a cult classic, this collaboration marks a bold leap forward for the tabletop community.

Below is the full press release detailing this exciting new venture, including what you can expect from our upcoming miniature range and the shared vision that powers this project.

Wargames Atlantic and Mongoose Publishing Join Forces to Bring 2300AD to the Tabletop

May 13, 2025 — Wargames Atlantic is pleased  to announce an exciting new partnership with Mongoose Publishing to produce official miniatures for the iconic 2300AD science fiction setting.

First released in the late 1980s by the ground-breaking Game Designers Workshop alongside games like Twilight 2000 and Traveller, and recently reborn under Mongoose Publishing, 2300AD stands out as a gritty, realistic vision of humanity’s future among the stars. It’s a setting we’ve long admired for its grounded tone, compelling world-building, and the way it invites deeply human stories of exploration, survival, and intrigue across the frontier of known space.

“2300AD has always been a favorite among our team,” said Charlie Monaghan of Wargames Atlantic. “It captures that perfect balance between hard science fiction and thrilling adventure. The chance to help bring its richly imagined worlds and factions to life in miniature form is a dream come true.”

Wargames Atlantic will be developing a full range of multipart 28mm hard plastic miniatures designed to capture the essence of the 2300AD universe—from planetary explorers and colonial troops to alien species and frontier civilians. These miniatures will be ideal for RPG campaigns, tabletop wargaming, and collectors alike.

Both companies share a vision for a long-term collaboration that supports not only existing fans of the 2300AD setting, but also brings new players into this storied universe.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Mongoose Publishing,” Monaghan added. “Together, we’re building something we hope the tabletop community will enjoy  for years to come.”

Stay tuned for previews, production updates, and release schedules in the coming months as this new line engages its Stutterwarp drive to explore a whole new universe!.

I am a huge fan of the original Traveller and dabbled with 2300 AD too. Having any sci-fi themed minis is great but getting some hard plastic Traveller ones is going to be brilliant!

You sure know how to make a man feel old. As I was a traveller fan back in the 80s, I bought this in a small independent gaming store back in I think it was 84/85 in Norwich. I’ll be keeping a beady eye on your minies

Pentapods! Kafers! Subg! Those funny tree things that you loot for their eye crystals when no one is looking! Yay!

Paul - May 16, 2025

ooh, I’ve been hoping for additions to the French Foreign Legion. I have them printed out, now I have more motivation to put some paint on them.

Oh, nice – this sounds like it might be right up my alley. for sci-fi gaming Can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Andreas - May 16, 2025

I’m probably in the minority here, but I would love to see these in 15mm. It’s a perfect scale for combined arms settings, with infantry and vehicles both showing their full potential.

Mark Dewis - May 15, 2025

Nice. I’m a lot more Traveller than 2300AD but there is useful general science fiction crossover between the two.

Gibbo - May 15, 2025

This will be perfect in addition for games such as Stagrave, Five Parsecs from Home, Space Station Zero etc 😃

Keith B. Vaughn - May 15, 2025

If I could get a little more information about the miniatures and their range.

What is the scale?
I’m assuming humans and aliens will be produced. Am I wrong?
Tactical Vehicles for ground combat. Will you produce them and to what scale? I wouldn’t mind Overhead graphs of the interiors (x-rays), and outlines.
Are starships going to be produced for space combat?

Hard plastic material…will that be styrene or something more like Reaper Minis: Bones Black material. I perfer the latter for storage, portability and durability.

Sounds like a wonderful project and I hope to be buying packs of these minis.
