The Vision: History Reborn in the Arena

When we first began developing the Death Fields universe, the hook was simple: What happens when the greatest warriors of Earth’s past are snatched from their timelines to fight for the amusement of a galaxy they don’t understand? While we’ve seen the community build incredible armies with our plastic kits—from the disciplined Les Grognards to the crazed Damned—we wanted a dedicated home for them that captured the frenetic, televised chaos of the circuit. That is how Death Fields Arena was born: a faster, tighter, and more lethal evolution of the game you know.

A Different Kind of Skirmish

In designing the rules for Arena, we wanted a system that felt like a broadcasted sporting event: high-stakes, reactive, and punishing.

• Continuous Activation: We moved away from traditional turns to a system where players alternate activating models. However, you cannot activate the same model twice in a row, creating a tactical "dance" where you must weigh pushing an elite fighter forward against leaving the rest of your team vulnerable.
  
  

• Precision with the D10: Choosing a D10 system was deliberate. It provides the granularity needed for a true skirmish experience, allowing for a nuanced "success scale" where every tactical decision carries the weight it deserves.
  
  

• Stress: The Mental Toll of Combat: The Stress System is the beating heart of the game. Every time a model is shot at or reacts, their Stress increases, eventually slowing their movement and penalizing their accuracy. Managing your team’s mental state is just as important as managing their ammunition.
  
  

The Future of the Circuit

We are launching with a streamlined set of fighter types to ensure a balanced entry into the Arena, but this is only the beginning. As the "seasons" progress, we will introduce new Captains, specialized fighter types, and unique equipment options for each team. This will allow your roster to evolve, adding layers of customization and new tactical tools as your team earns its glory under the stadium lights.
