Grand Battle Scale Orcs

Work has begun on the first Grand Battle Scale 10mm Classic Fantasy sets: Orcs!

We're going to be adjusting the sculpts and narrowing down the frame inclusions but wanted to preview what was in the works. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

I am very excited about this set and think the previewed sculpts look great!

My only worry (after watching reviews of the Ashigaru set) is that the pikes will be thin and brittle. Are you considering making the orc pikes a bit thicker to avoid this problem?

The new Grand Battle Scale project is very exciting. Keep up the fantastic work!

They look great. As a Warmaster player I see 2 units of infantry, one bows & wolf riders. Assuming the price is the same as the Samurai set they cost about the same as the printed units. One advantage with plastic is that they’ll likely be a bit more durable than resin. Unless you buy the excellent but expensive resin prints of course. Plastic also brings the greater/ easier chance for conversion which will be welcomed. Its unclear which rules set these are aimed at but they should work OK for warmaster.(40mm x 20mm basing)

I’ll buy several sets of these but, I request you separate the cav from the infantry. 10mm gives great maneuver room on a table which can lead to large cav formations. As a starter army I would want two formations of 10 wolf riders plus infantry. The infantry are fine, but how many boxes would I need to buy to get 20 wolf rider stands; not to mention adding another unit of 10!

Also, chariots, artillery and monsters would be great to have as well.

PS, the pikes are fine. It is fantasy after all!

They’re good…. You can start tooling….

Stunning…

The sculpts are beautiful. The characterisation and art direction are beyond perfect.
Please, please, please continue the range with more Tolkienesque races – I’ll buy them all.
We wantss them precious, we wantss them!

I love them. I really hope there’s a way to have them led by both shadow riders and dark lords on the one hand, and orc warbosses and shamans on the other. Artillery doesn’t need differentiation if you leave out the kooky stuff. Ditto trolls. Spiders work with optional riders. Wyverns are the same as fell beasts. Just offer a choice of orc lords, orc shamans and wraiths as riders. Giant dark lords probably have to be their own thing, as do dark riders and orcs on pigs. But I think you could get away with putting all the command options in one box and letting the customer pick and choose what they want to use. Maybe someone wants dark lords AND orcs on pigs. You just never know.

Suggest three boxes.

Box one infantry mix.
Box two mounted troops, with chariots.
Box three Monsters, heroes, War machines.

Warmaster Revolution army lists are a great place for unit suggestions.
Many thanks!

Outstanding. Will make a great addition to any warmaster army and complement many of the 10mm middle earth offerings currently available. Love that there’s additional quiver and shields. It would be great to see the # of the various groupings to assess how many warmaster units you could make with this. If it’s like the ashiguru box then it looks outstanding value.

I like the concept but for me the halberd blades are too big. A few more animated poses would be nice too.

Not super loving the two hand weapon poses but it will
Be easy to snip one off and add a green stuff shield
