I’d love a Sohei monk kit, they are such a cool part of Japanese history. Id love something multipart. Maybe use universal bodies and heads with a sprue for ranged weapons like guns and bows, a separate melee sprue with a variety of Japanese swords and polearms.

Renaissance: Ming (Northern Infantry late 16th century for the Imjin war)
There are next to no Ming around for fielding the largest Army worldwide for well over 200 years. Imjin war Korean already exist (in metal), Samurai abound, but we are empty here.

First Empires: Classical Indians (the enemys of Alexander)
Decline and Fall: Huns – Hepthalites
Both sets could use the same elephant set as a base, so…

General Accoutrements: Indian elephants
Useful for any army from India (or Successors) to the 19th century Siam/Burma wars.

Blood Oaths: Chinese peasant infantry
Actually these also can be used for any war from 300bc to the Taiping wars (who surpass WW1 in size) and complement the Boxer set. They would hopefully kitbash with the Japanese peasants, too.

Napoleon’s Wars: Maratha Infantry – as depicted for the battle of Assaye.

Classic Fantasy: Sun Wukong – the Monkey King.

Imperial Conquests: Chinese Gordon and the Ever Victorious Army.

BTW: You do know that your ranges have a huge gap in the medieval era when there is no place for Mongols or Sung.

Xiongnu Huns for Decline and Fall
KoKoreyo/Shilla Bronze Age Koreans for First Empires

Actually I’d like to see a lot of Koreans in general.

Tanuki-men for Fantasy.

Here’s my nominations:
First Empires: Indian Sreni guild warriors
Decline and Fall: Yayoi period Japanese warriors
Blood Oaths: Tang Dynasty Chinese infantry
Renaissance: Imjin War Koreans
Napoleon’s Wars: Qajar Persian infantry (fought Russia 1804-1813 and can be used against the Ottomans and Russia in the 1820s and the British in the 1850s just prior to the Indian Mutiny)
Imperial Conquests: Mounted Qing Bannermen or Taiping Brethren
Great War: Warlord Era Chinese
World Ablaze: Filipino Guerillas
General Accoutrements: banyan trees
Death Fields: Space ashigaru
Classic Fantasy: Wuxia martial artists

Glad to see that Asia has won! It would be really cool to see:
Death Fields – Futuristic Ninjas?
Classic Fantasy – Yeti/Tengu/Kappa
First Empires – Classical Indian Infantry with maces, spears and shields
Blood Oaths – Mongol Cavalry
Renaissance – Wokou Pirates
Imperial Conquests – Ainu hunters with bows and spears
General Accoutrements – Indian Elephant

Devin Pike - February 2, 2024

For Great War, I would love to see French Vietnamese colonial infantry, Thai infantry, Japanese infantry… Basically all the great war stuff. :D

Nanashi - February 2, 2024

Decline and Fall: Three Kingdoms infantry (a few years too early, but meh)
World War II: Operation Downfall Japanese home island defense force (girls in early Showa school uniforms with guns have so much kitbash potential)
Classic Fantasy: Ronin is obvious, but could always do something unusual and make generic “adventurers” based on how the Japanese depicted western fantasy in 1980s/early 90s (Slayers, Berserk, Shining Force, etc.)

PH - February 2, 2024

Glad to see Asia won. Got to say though, I would have been kinda peeved if What If 2 did… Not that it is bad, but What If 1 was only a few months ago. Maybe like, once a year is fine, but you can’t run those so close together, so it really shouldn’t even be on the ballot. Variety is much of what makes this all so appealing!

For The Great war i’d love some chinese labor battalions! 100,000 chinese were recruited by the allies. (and the chinese government offered a half a million infantry if the allies had agreed to equip and transport them!) They did minor things like “Helped keep the road to Verdun in working order” and “allowed the allies to field an extra couple corps.” I have NEVER seen miniatures for them anywhere.
