Sprue Game Round 5: First Empires

Sprue Game Round 5: First Empires

Here's the submissions for the fifth range - First Empires. Vote away!

(As always we've eliminated duplicates, sets that are already planned, and anything that violated IP. Also some people just added to the wrong range so we've moved those over to the correct ones.)

This has ben a cool program and fun to participate in these first five rounds. Thanks!
I thought I’d read you wanted to complete voting in January, but also thought there were plans to continue the voting beyond there eras to some of the other eras, or are you just focusing on these 5 for the time being?
Thanks!

If we get a Sumerian kit can we have some Anunnaki as well please? :) That’s the only thing I can’t find suitable models for.

Okay this seems pretty standard so far…

…PARADE DRAGON?!

Absolute must vote.

Y. Whateley - January 13, 2026

I definitely agree with @Mithril2098 that the parade dragon sounds like a pulp subject more than anything else, but it sounds fun in any case. I’m not sure what I’d actually do with it in practice (the niche appeal is a big reason why it sounds like a digital set to me), but it sounds like it would be a colourful subject to paint, if nothing else, and I kinda feel like something that is begging to find a use with WA’s Colonial Conquests Boxers.

The Shao-lin Monks, in spite of having a lengthy historical tradition, seem like a wonderful pulp subject too, for that matter – kinda puts me in a mood for something like ‘Big Trouble In Little China’, with kung-fu fighting, gangsters, ghosts, vampires, and so on.

Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, the six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What’s in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!

I’d love to see Mycenaean light infantry that could be used for both early and late Minoans/Mycenaeans, and with a bit of kitbashing, civilians. However, I would hope they would be more historically accurate than the current STLs, where they’re wearing these weird shorts. Mycenaean men wore loincloths, kilts, or later on, tunics.

In hoping to see some prehistoric ranges in the near future. Especially with Ospreys new wargame rules Hide, Stone, and Bone

@Mithril2098
“Hellenisitc Cataphracts” like those of the Seleucids or Tigrean Armenia. They had heavy Armoured Cavalry in that fashion. They disappeared with the End of the Seleucid Empire and got “assimilated” into the Parthian Army, which adopted Hellenistic Elements for a short Time into ther Forces.

To my excitement, at this moment my choice is in the top 3! I suggested War Elephants. Weather Ptolemaic vs Seleucid or Carthaginian doesn’t really matter as they all have that Hellenistic look.

Myceneans & Sea Peoples please and thank you!

I saw Sumerian army builder and had such a big smile lol
