The Shot Heard Round the World!

The Shot Heard Round the World!

Today, here in New England, we are kicking off the start of a special year in America: the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution!

To celebrate we have two new hard plastic box sets that will be the first in a new Age of Reason range which will cover the late 1600s to the early 1800s.

The first two sets for the Age of Reason are focused on the Battles of Lexington and Concord (April 19. 1775) and the Battle of Bunker Hill (June 17, 1775).

Both sets have been sculpted by Rob Macfarlane and Peter Dennis has kindly done the illustrations for the boxes.

The first set are Minutemen, the colonial militias who banded together and trained throughout the colonies to oppose the British. This will be a 30 figure set featuring a variety of firing/loading/advancing poses, multiple musket types, and a diverse selection of heads.

The second set are the 5th Regiment of Foot Grenadiers who took place in the action during both battles. This will also be a 30 figure set of Grenadiers skirmishing with Brown Bess muskets.

As you can see both sets are already tooled. Stephan Huber is in the process of painting the models and we will soon have them available! Mark your calendars as both sets will be on pre-order Friday May 2nd!

More sets will follow for this range. Please let us know what you would like to see!

Una bella scatola di italiani coloniali battaglia di Adua sarebbe un onore.

These look superb and at last some good looking AWI in firing poses in hard plastic and will certainly get both sets

These are neat. I’m definitely going to pick up both sets for Silver Bayonet as soon as they’re available.

Regarding what else I would like to see, there are already many good suggestions by other people, so the only thing I would mention is maybe alternate history models for this epoch. Notably female variations of these soldiers. Maybe not a set with 30 female soldiers, since I suspect that they would be in lower demand than their male counterparts, but I think there’s room for smaller sets. Maybe just offering conversion pieces like bodies and heads.

Nice. Now do the War of 1812.

A generic AWI command frame would also be useful, with arms and heads for sergeants, officers, musicians and and empty arms for standard bearers.

What a nice surprise announcement.

Two great looking sets that I will be adding to my collection.

As to other AWI sets, you should add the obvious add such sets as Continentals and British. Hessians in plastic would also be a good choice, and probably a good seller as they will double up for many troops of the Seven Years War. In a similar vein, French foot would also be good.for AWI, as well as Seven Yers War. A light cavalry set with a selection of headgear would enable both sides to be modelled, to allow creation of regular and irregular British and Rebel forces, perhaps including a couple of dismounted figures which would give good options, as well as make it a useful set for skirmish gamers.

Will the range include anything other than infantrymen? Officers, musicians etc. will be essential.
And if the range ever adds artillery, will it include limbers?

Personally I’d prefer earlier figures for French-Indian Wars, but I suppose it’s Hobson’s Choice.

Robert - April 18, 2025

Dobrze, że idziecie w tym kierunku bo figurek z tego konfliktu na rynku jest mało. Czekam na nastepne.

Daniel - April 18, 2025

Amazing! Would love to see some Iroquois/Huron allies and to expand into French and Indian War!

Oh my, now I must research my ancestral Loyalist regiment!
