LOL at Penny and Goggles. Appreciate the parts breakdowns for the conversions.
@Vitor Soares how many female torsos and heads do you get in a box?
As an interesting note, the Bulgarian helmet was of Dutch design (and even manufactured there), so a Bulgarian kit would have heads (briefly) useful for 1940 Netherlands, and possibly for an interw...
@JTam bought a set already. 😊
Inspector Ryder explosive temper makes it hard for him to work with a human partner, luckily his canine partner Chase is on the case! Ryder: Head, Torso and Whalloping Stick: Victorian Policemen ...

@BS Kitbasher Before I came across the Quar I was considering the very same thing for WW 2 Italians, using them as generic alt-history troops. Your point about less distinctive helmets echoes...
I'd buy some of these to use for Sci Fi or Alt Hist modeling projects. It's refreshing to see equipment, and specially helmets, that one can identify with a time period but not instantly with...
@Andreas Penzkofer It is from the Star Wars: Andor TV series on Disney+.
Hello, I hope not to embarrass myself, but from what movie ist the picture from? Best regards, Andreas
@Alessio De Carolis All good points. Reference having enough "appeal". WW2 is the most popular/widely played period for historical tabletop wargamers. Romanians may ...
Romanian army in 1939 was bigger than, f.e. US' one, after all, and they've a grudge against Stalin, for Moldova's seizing, so they choose to support Hitler's attack, as the Finns. The problem natu...
Using the 3D printable Gurkha bodies and loads of bits from my spares box I have built and painted these "Balkan-ish" partisans. I printed the bodies using a Cel Robox FDM printer - which do...
@Lord Marcus : Is video acceptable? I have got a 360º-video of a grognard heavy weapon painted to the maximal standard I could achieve (and in a lightbox) for exactly this opportunity. The n...
It would be interesting see more of all the other “non-main” WW2 nations released in plastic and as you said the Romanians are a practical force to build due to fighting on both sides.
The standard Romanian light machinegun was the ZB 30. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZB_vz._30 Fundamentaly the same as a Bren gun it is an excellent arm. ...
Romanian Infantry equipment and uniforms: Fairly standard wool tunic with stand and fall collar. In the warm season the troops would be issued cotton tunics. These faded very quickly comp...
Romanians represent a true (plastic) gap in the market. Romanian troops on the Eastern Front outnumbered all other German allies combined. This is impressive considering th...
Victrix has a new set: The female torso/miniature looks good:
@Red Bee peasants for the renaissance/medieval range are still coming, and as far as i am aware will be made available to all subscribers from december. They apparently had some technical issues wi...
Yeah. My guess there is the sculpting didn't get done in time, so they deferred it until later since the Japanese peasants already counted for Renaissance, while the Monks are very usable for that ...
@Berggeit There's always the chance they might add new plastics for one of their other Osprey collaborations, like Dracula's America or Lion Rampant. But while the latter is a historical army game ...
Is the Tommy Gun guy supposed to count for World Ablaze? Fair enough if so. I'm perfectly satisfied if some months are something like "PIAT and arms" for the Resistance set. ...
@Grumpy Gnome To be honest they don't look like Orcs either, the veiny bodies and frog-like fingers and toes don't look particularly Orcy to me. I'd have thought that if WA wanted to make Orcs, the...
@Alessio De Carolis I'd like to see a bronze clad phalanx against a few Aliens. I think they might do OK in open field combat. The REAL challenge will be when the Aliens disperse...
Write up from the JAN 2023 Issue of Wargames Illustrated:
Far more excited for this: Than this: The top creatures look great. They remind me / are somewhat how I pictured the Trolls from the Bazil Broketail series.
I think they are something different from already previewed Trolls (which seemed pretty popular with a number of folks precisely because their aesthetic fit in with current lines of Middle Ea...
@Steffen Seitter An interesting proposition, but I thought scale armour didn't appear in the Roman army until the Late Imperial Era. Feel free to prove me wrong with any sources you may have, howev...
@Mark Dewis To be honest I really hope the preview shown by @Nanashi Anon is a replacement to the one you've shown. Wargames Atlantic really need to be more creative in their Fantasy kits and the o...

@JTam Bit late. Northstar Miniatures created all of the Stargrave, Forstgrave and Oarthmark plastics and metal miniatures (Rendra produces the frames, but Northstar creates figures and I think they...
Going from strength to strength. Another great post. Thanks!
Warlord Games is doing a "Bad Santa"/"Big Bundle" sale. This is dang tempting: Plus they are giving away a really good mini when you spend $75.00 or more.
The shoulder pads do look a bit less streamlined than I would have expected but the body armor looks right to me.
I think the caps are appropriate for a "security guard". I was also thinking that with more military style colors they could work as Stargate Troops, the guns are very simmilar. The shoulder pads ...
@H M Perhaps call it 28mm and make the miniature 32mm in height. If we know anything about the Hybrorian age it's that it's heros are mighty of stature and sinew.
I don't think it's the torsos as much as the shoulders. Pads aside, the arms don't look natural. I'd shave off some of the material around the arm/torso join.
The small guys are basically dog-sized. I don't think a 50mm base would matter too much. Use the extra real estate for webs and victims. I mean *I* put the two I ended up with from a preord...
@Francisco Alonzo Thanks, glad it's not just me then.

Nice, but perhaps the torsos are a little too big, I think that those minis woul be better with closed helmets, so could pass for some hard sci-fi troopers, as seen in Altered Carbon. I think that ...
