@Hudson Adams So I see. Noted. Thanks for letting me know.
@Hudson Adams So I see. Noted. Thanks for letting me know.
Prices seem to be going up everywhere, for almost everything.
A Xenomorph... question is, will it be a stand up fight or another bughunt?
I can see catfolk selling well although I am not after a set. For me.... crabfolk! I like this design from Stellaris. However, I am not sure how many other folks would buy them.
I can not speak for others but the “fuss” I am causing is because I am not keen on the aesthetic of the barrel and I would like to know why that design was chosen. If it was because the...
Looks like the Kickstarter is live. Halflings aside, some folks may like the Desert Dwellers (not-Tallarn) add-on. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ttcombatundead/halflings-in-space?ref=recomm...
@Charles Tottington The Disney comparison is quite good!
@Hudson Adams Fair enough. Can we please get a clear explanation of what the design intent is with such a barrel assembly? I just can not seem to get my head around the design as it seems unli...
@John Wilson perhaps I am being a bit slow here but I fail to understand why the weapon can not have a muzzle/muzzles like other weapon models. I mean, I guess I understand you can not have an...
@Hudson Adams When I say big, I do not mean just in length but in width and height. And a G-36 is a pretty long weapon by todays’s standards. Not FN-FAL long but pretty long.
I like the idea in concept but in practice the one officer on the WW1/WW2 French sprue is a bit problematic. For me, having a single command/character sprue (with lots of “flavor” acce...
@William Redford Thanks for bringing those films to my attention. @Alex Core I think using the term “weird fetish” was a bit much and has turned the atmosphere in this conver...
I dislike how much influence GW has on the hobby but at the same time thankfully the hobby is big enough, with plenty of other things to do beyond 40k and AoS.
The beauty of it is, folks can play both if they can find the time once their figures are ready.
@Daniel Broaddus It is great to hear the game is working well for you. I prefer Sharp Practice but that is not to say M&T is not an excellent game. The most well articulated compar...
To me the weapons hint at the pulse rifle aesthetic but are not copies. They are as much P90s as Colonial Marine pulse rifles. While I think the weapons are too big and therefore look a bi...
@JTam GW continues to influence sales across the hobby....even for other companies.
I am not normally a fan of GW AoS sculpts but I do like those new “Orruks” and picked up a few cheap on eBay.
@William Redford Sorry mate, is the new link better?
https://www.brueckenkopf-online.com/2022/ttcombat-wip-halflings-in-space/comment-page-1/ I like the terrain but the minis... not so much. However, I think the vehicles will have broad appeal.
@Geoff Maybury I am not sure how I haves better source in Germany. UK seems like the best place for bits, in particular Anvil Industry.
I agree with@Stephen Sutton. Put a jump pack and shoulder mounted weapon systems on that as well as a wrist flamethrower and I think I have my favorite image so far of Heinlein’s MI power arm...
Thanks for sharing this image... it is now one of my favorite visions for Heinlein’s Mobile Infantry. The only thing holding it back from being my very favorite is the bits in the book that I...
@Yronimos Whateley We are basically.... Neanderthals.
It is indeed a plastic GW LOTR Warg with spare bits attached to a greenstuff blanket/saddle. Thanks for the kind words, feedback always helps me justify the time I spend on the blog.
My latest blog update for those that are curious… https://thegrumpygnome.home.blog/2022/06/14/one-lonely-knight/ As always feedback appreciated!
@Hudson Adams Thank you for providing this forum... I refuse to use Facebook and would hate to miss out on this information. It would be neat if WGA looked into the various castes of bugs u...
@John Wilson I thought the animated movies were better than the live action movies but that the animated tV show “Roughnecks” was better than the animated movies. All of these bein...
The Martian Power Armor in The Expanse was pretty good. As is the power armor in Fallout 4. Not really what I think of as power armor... but the big suits in Avatar are pretty cool too. I d...
@John Wilson I have been given a lead on the matter. There is a short discussion about it on the WGA news thread over on DakkaDakka for those looking for more information on it.
That is certainly taking things to a new level of “over the top”!
@William Redford It does seem like the amazing sales I recall have been absent the last couple of years.
@Benjamin Hayward I agree with you (in part)and feel the same. The only thing I disagree with is having a sweeping disregard for politicians. I have been considered a politician by some myself...
I am all for a public Pride display to show support. I was in fact unaware June is Pride Month.
@Yronimos Whateley I quite agree on the tablet. And I also only intend to get a single box for kitbashing bits.
At a guess that “carrying handle” is pure homage to the Colonial Marines Pulse Rifle. But yeah I would guess there is some movie version Starship Troopers Morita Rifle influence going i...
That looks like classic Hammer Horror fun!
Thanks for the quick review mate. Sorry to hear it was not your cup of tea. Sounds like it would not be mine either.
Perhaps the magazine feed system works like an FN P90?
I think they look alright, except for the mortar. That looks off some how. And the heads, I am not a fan... but that is a purely aesthetic opinion. It is easy enough to kitbash convert with ...
I keep hearing positive reviews. The original is a classic as far as I am concerned to hear it has surpassed that is a pleasant surprise.
Some excellent points folks. I was wondering on the PASGT helmet shape myself and figured it was for a touch of nostalgia. I was wondering if the Cannon Fodder helmet, which is a bit more ...
Fascinating discussion folks. I will admit that as much as I think the Conquistors are interesting, I do not find them as cool as I did in my youth. I was once very mislead in the understanding of...
@JTam I think the set lacking the cultural caricature aspects of the Grognards and Bulldogs, given WGA is an American company, may be seen poorly by some in the international gaming community...
Looking good to me and I hope we get female Marines as well. Some comments over on Dakka Dakka suggest the set could use a bit more “American culturally flavor”. https://www.dak...
It depends on what kind of aesthetic you want for the Lizardmen. My favorite options are to kitbash with Games Workshop Lizardmen, North Star Ghost Archipelago Tribals and WGA Aztecs. I am not supe...
