Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

We have a lot of great things in the works for our new Decline and Fall range with the first set Late Roman Legionaries (1): Lorica Hamata coming out soon.

Along with the Romans in mail we have a set of Goths and also two Army Builders for the Romans and the Goths (60 figures each). The main boxes will provide enough command elements to outfit several units when combined with the Army Builder boxes.

This range has several other sets in the works but we wanted to give you the choice as to which ones would come soonest.

To that end here is a survey to mark down your First, Second, and Third choices. Let us know if you have other ideas below. There are no cavalry sets listed but those will be coming later as well.

The greatest enemies of Rome herself. Sassanids, Aksum/Meroe and Patricians . . . Or, maybe Christians? Rebels? Jewish rebels? A whole kit of Christian pilgrims would be a fun joke, but I’d probably, actually buy a set. Rebels could be a frame of mixed armored and unarmored bodies with a variety of heads.

Great to see WA appreciate those not on Facebook!

Thanks guys. It’s truly appreciated!

Also.

As predicted. WA have always been keen to produce a lot of historical kits.

Thus, further proving that there was no need for the snide comments about the result of the new kit vote favouring sci-fi/ fantasy kits.

The fantastic variety shown thus far, clearly indicates that before too long, there will be something for all tastes.

Long may it continue.

Just need those Crimean War British Grenadier Guards! Please. Perhaps, Cybernetic Troops for Deathfields too.

I would opt for Legionaries with pteruges for an Hellenised look.

Or alternatively mail and scale clad cavalry usable as both normal cavalry or Contarii.

I would love some generic horse archers (eastern) with lots of conversion potential.
Almost all enemies for hundreds of years had or were solely light cavalry – huns, magyars etc.
Though nobody does them in plastic. The gripping beast arabs and fireforge mongols are fine, but rather specific. A box to build all the steppe armies would provide enemies for 200 to 1100 AD.

Mountain tribes, Kurds, Armenians, Daylami, suitable for and against a Roman force and on into Sassanids and Saracens. Also good for fantasy.
Sling, bow, javelins and a variety of “silly hats”.
Generic light cavalry, smock and trousers, different heads for Sassanids, Ghasnavids, Saracens or Auxillia.
