Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

Help Decide our Next Late Roman Sets!

We have a lot of great things in the works for our new Decline and Fall range with the first set Late Roman Legionaries (1): Lorica Hamata coming out soon.

Along with the Romans in mail we have a set of Goths and also two Army Builders for the Romans and the Goths (60 figures each). The main boxes will provide enough command elements to outfit several units when combined with the Army Builder boxes.

This range has several other sets in the works but we wanted to give you the choice as to which ones would come soonest.

To that end here is a survey to mark down your First, Second, and Third choices. Let us know if you have other ideas below. There are no cavalry sets listed but those will be coming later as well.

First Choice:
Roman Cavalry

3rd Choice:
Enemies: Cartage… okay,, these are spelled wrong. The guys around Hanibal.

“Bring me another cup of coffee, would you Hun?”

I don’t know how historically accurate they are but Attila and crew in Fritz Lang’s 1924 silent “Die Nimblungen” are as scary as any opponent in Peter Jackson’s LOTR films. Lang’s two-part epic was truly the Mother of All Fantasy Films.

Picts and Scots please.

Don Williams - May 21, 2021

Please consider offering Scots/Picts. Like your Dark Ages Irish set, these figures can serve for many different historical periods over 1,000 years from Roman through to the late Dark Ages/Early Medieval period. Providing weapons options that include slings, bows, and javelins is essential for these light infantry troops.

I would like to see Saxons and cavalry.

Lorenz Köcher - May 21, 2021

I would love to see some Vandals or Franks

Huns, please, with conversion options for Xiongnu

I think Huns would be an excellent set. There are none in 28mm plastic, and with a little openness in design, and perhaps not too much “absolute authenticity”, they may be adaptable for wider periods: Avars, Bulgars, Mongols, Tatars – maybe even Dothraki and Haradrim. I appreciate that these are all different horse peoples with subtle differences in costume, tack etc, so some gamers would be appalled by the idea of a generic “Horse Peoples” set, but I reckon it’d sell well. Certainly to me!
The other army I’d love to see in plastic would be Sassanids – you’d probably need at least three different sets to make an army: cataphracts, light cav and foot troops.
