"Space Brits" Work in Progress

"Space Brits" Work in Progress

After the Cannon Fodder release this summer, our next faction for Death Fields are the "Space Brits" (name to be determined). Here's a shot of some of the parts we're working on.

There will be four bodies on the sprue with enough standard rifles and heads (with and without gasmasks) for all of them.

We're not sure if we'll do shoulder pads, back packs, maybe epaulettes? Let us know your advice below!

I echo the sentiment of not using the weapon firing effect pieces. It’s a cool thought, but in practicality those are just going into the bits box or the recycling bin with the rest of the sprue after people are done building the kit. Use that space for something else.

Are those pump-action weapons supposed to be shotguns, or grenade launchers styled after the China Lake grenade launcher?

Yes, please, so shoulderpads !

Some slightly more sci fi looking rifles would be great, even if it’s just options for alternative magazines and barrels.

Backpacks also would be great, particularly for a comms unit.

Regardless, even just as it is, I’m buying these day one.

Epaulettes please!
I have a large praetorian guard army and over the years have added a few other figures from ranges/manufacturers that didn’t have them.
I’m bored of sculpting epaulettes on myself now 🙂.

I’m also not convinced by the “firing effects” and probably wouldn’t use them if included.

Similarly I’d prefer no backpacks

Just my opinion though .

Looks great so far

Please add backpacks

Well, how about a new WWI Brits set?

Marian Mull-Heidemann - June 17, 2021

Finally :D

First of all, a big shout out to Gino and Shaun Gooch. I’m totaly agree.
I all so love that the heavy wapons come in two variantes. One in fighting and one on marching. For example: I bearly misse the marching one in the WW1 German Set for the 08/15 MG.
And please add some sort of SMG. The STEN would be nice, even it dosen’t fit in the WW1 setting.

But thier is one thing more. Could you guys make a sprue of SicFi military arms with out shoulder pads in different positions? like some one with rifels and SMG, one useing both hands on a HMG, and some arms that working on heavy guns? like pushing button, pulling a lever, and stuff like that? And maybe add some scifi bitz?
that would be a great sprue for kitbashing

These look great. I Would love one or two options for specialist weapons with a more futuristic look. (like in the les grognards set)

It would be nice if it came with more kneeling poses so we can reenact (space) Zulu.

Excellent start!

Recommendations:

Shoulder pads for the grunts, epaulettes for the Officer/Sergeant arms.

Add an upper torso short cuirass with a rampant lion, maybe just as a small breast badge. Keep the armor level similar to the Gognards and Raumjager. The Death Fields are too deadly for just a tunic, after all. Unless you’re Cannon Fodder.

That SMLE is great, just needs a laser emitter at the muzzle end. Short Magazine Laser Enfield. Same with the Lewis Gun… just “laserfy” the muzzle slightly. The Grognard rifles got this balance of old and new just right. Just do the same thing to the Smelly.

The Heads are excellent, but the bear skins can go, especially if a material sacrifice must be made. Replace with bare heads or, better yet, British Dragoon helmets.

That power sword is divine, but a chain sword would be a good addition.

Very excited for these guys!
