The Shot Heard Round the World!

The Shot Heard Round the World!

Today, here in New England, we are kicking off the start of a special year in America: the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution!

To celebrate we have two new hard plastic box sets that will be the first in a new Age of Reason range which will cover the late 1600s to the early 1800s.

The first two sets for the Age of Reason are focused on the Battles of Lexington and Concord (April 19. 1775) and the Battle of Bunker Hill (June 17, 1775).

Both sets have been sculpted by Rob Macfarlane and Peter Dennis has kindly done the illustrations for the boxes.

The first set are Minutemen, the colonial militias who banded together and trained throughout the colonies to oppose the British. This will be a 30 figure set featuring a variety of firing/loading/advancing poses, multiple musket types, and a diverse selection of heads.

The second set are the 5th Regiment of Foot Grenadiers who took place in the action during both battles. This will also be a 30 figure set of Grenadiers skirmishing with Brown Bess muskets.

As you can see both sets are already tooled. Stephan Huber is in the process of painting the models and we will soon have them available! Mark your calendars as both sets will be on pre-order Friday May 2nd!

More sets will follow for this range. Please let us know what you would like to see!

Any 28mm AWI cavalry in plastic would be nice, regardless British or Continental Light Dragoons. Or a set of American militia with a high kit bash content.

You know I have to ask for Rogers Rangers in both FIW/SYW and AWI kit! A variety of native American tribes would be great.

Also, the British 42nd Regiment (Royal Highlanders), 16th Light Dragoons (Queen’s Lancers), 4th Regiment of Foot (King’s Own), and any of the other significant regiments at the Battle of Long Island. For the Americans, the 10th Continental Regiment (Connecticut), 17th Continental Regiment (Huntington’s Connecticut), 1st Maryland Regiment (Smallwood’s Regiment), 1st Delaware Regiment, the Green Mountain Boys, and Continental irregular sharpshooters.

It would be nice to see a wide range of artillery pieces, including some of the more rare types.

For FIW/SYW, all of the regiments at the Battle of Quebec in 1759 would be great to see.

Something that might be better for WA Digital but that I would like to see either way is slave and French figures for the Haitian Revolution.

These sets look great and I can’t wait to get them.
I’d like to see some colonial frontiersmen. Maybe a Lewis and Clark set.

Gregor - April 29, 2025

I would be very happy if there was an additional sprue for the grenadiers to build them all marching.

Charles - April 26, 2025

Higlanders would be an obvious one for me. Next off would be Plastic Woodland Natives. I’m excited to see the late 1600s to early 1800s be covered in this range, as there is a lot of stuff from this period that doesn’t have much representation yet.

Richard - April 25, 2025

Good to see the Minutemen! These have not been released yet and people are already complaining about what has not been made.

Alan Cole - April 25, 2025

North American Woodland Tribes please. :0)

Alex Nicole - April 25, 2025

Hessian Jager would be a really cool set and I could use them for both the AWI & French Revolutionary War’s.

Asher Croy - April 25, 2025

These look awesome! Very much looking forward to having them. I think a plastic set of light infantry would be a natural follow up for the British, and I’ve already red it a few times, but a set of plastic cavalry would also be great (with the option to have a tarleton helmet, or classic horsetail dragoon helmet). A set of plastic artillery is also lacking in the hobby (warlords set isn’t that good). Either way I’ll be very happy to see where this goes. Thank you!

Maybe I am dumb but I don’t see it. Are these in 28mm scale?
