Up Close: The Damned Infantry

Up Close: The Damned Infantry

The first of a series of posts highlighting what's been done already to make these new plastic sets a reality. Rob Macfarlane who also sculpted the Dark Age Irish, Einherjar, Late Romans and Goths, Conquistadors and Aztecs, and the Landsknecht Ogres has been hard at work on these new sets for The Damned.

Today we're taking a closer look at the parts for The Damned Infantry frame. This first image are all the unique parts that have been done so far (i.e. these are not the final frame inclusions) We'll also be taking feedback before and during (and after!) the campaign as we work toward a final frame layout. One thing that will definitely be coming is more head options!

Next up are some of the combinations that can be assembled from these parts:

Keep in mind these are work-in-progress, the final frame inclusions have not been locked down, and that parts from the other 7 frames (well maybe not the Brutes!) can be mixed and matched with all of these too.

We'll be back in a couple days with the next preview!

An upgrade sprue could contains some heavy tools (grinder, jackhammer, etc…) => more melee weapons and (with another head or one from cannon fodder) the damned could be used as civilian (or the cannon fodder could use these heavy tools too).
And as an bonus, it will be helpfull if someone wants to make an alien-contagion infected army (especially if we already have the mutation upgrade sprue).

I really love those new damned warriors, good action and shooting poses

Lookin’ Good!! More of your Ogres!
Thanks!

There is an all-female set that will unlock with a stretch goal if it gets there! Also keep in mind there are more bodies on the Hounds, Artillery, HW, and Vehicle sets that will add a lot more options for posing as regular troops too.

I love these models, they have such great variety! I would love to see some more posing differences, and some women mixed into the set! I always appreciated that in some of the sets I already have, even if it’s just heads(due to heavier armor making bodies more androgynous). Either way, it looks awesome WGA!

Stilton Disco - May 20, 2023

These look fantastic! I’d also echo what others have said and ask you to please make a seperate female sprue set at some point! I actually do want them, but there’s nothing worse than when a company just puts a female head on a male body and thinks that’s good enough!

Mark - May 20, 2023

If you make females, please make them a separate set. I will never use them and it would just be wasted models in a set for me.

Cheers!

I just want many open hands 👐 on the sprues – so I can build civilians, zombies, workers, etc.

Bullfrog - May 16, 2023

I wonder if/how you would add some females to the mix?

I hope the grenade launcher fits the body better than the one in the bulldogs sprue does.

Awesome to see the “full mix” of typical special weapons. Really hope that makes it into the final box. Preferably at a 2 per 10 ratio of each.
