Italian Wars-3: Landsknechts Landsknechts became one of the most prominent mercenaries in the 16th century, dressed outrageously for the standards of the times, due to maximillian the first, who r...
Received all three yesterday. Very happy with the products!
Mine (pre-ordered in July) just turned up from the Australian warehouse. That was the LAST of the three centres stocked, so if UK/EU folks are still waiting, get onto them.
@John Wilson Indeed not part of those good old Atlantic minis, I still have some greeks left somewhere... and it does look like a piece of porcelain than a plastic or pewter mini to my mind....
@JTam Always a pleasure my friend, I know that most of times pertinent informations can be quite hard to dig out when sources are only in French (or any foreign language) and Googling "Free ...
Arrived in the US, I think, it was still on its way to the UK and EU. Presumably the time being taken to remake the release schedule page is connected to the 'slightly delayed' (my words!) release ...
As noted in my post above, with the photo showing the Schleich dino repainted... I am willing to use Schleich. But I would not turn my note up at WGA Dino's if they were of a design I liked. Worth...
@Geoff Maybury Good Afternoon (?) :) Their stuff does look good. I think I have some West Wind "beret heads wearing gasmasks" lying around somewhere from an old project. ...
@JTam Maybe one day, GW will release new minis of the long lost Adeputs Arbites based on the very first models (second row) out of Jes Goodwin' sketch not the second set (first row) nor the ...
@JTam In French my friend !! Not in Spanish 😅 Quiqui was the name of the dog of Major Raynal, commanding officer of the Fort.. a cocker as far as I remember. Quiqui is a very French ...
@JTam Don`t know how you missed them, my son and Daughter loved them, they were their number one toy. So did there Dad, when I got a look in, very nice back story, and well thought out for a kids to...
@Brian Van De WalkerHonerable Lead Boiler Suit thought it big enough to do a complete range and sell four different rule sets with two second editition reprints. The decision to do 1/56th and push ...
@JTam Good morning Brother , nice to see the units comming together, got you another company, Secrets of the Third Riech, Weird WW2, by West Wind Games Russian and Geman Zonbies plus some exo...
@Steven StGeorges Do you mean CQC? @JTam Hmm, "Dungeon crawler" kinda of implies playing a bunch of adventurers going around in a dungeon, killing the monsters that live there (generally pesky gob...
Doesn't look like it. What scale is it? It may be an old Atlantic 1/72 which has no connection with Wargames Atlantic. It looks like a boardgame piece.
@Grumpy Gnome intresting arguement, but I have seen Schliech, Papo, etc. do several diffrent breeds of Dinos (including Herbavors) over the years that work just fine on the tabletop alongside 28mm f...
Going to be honest I can't even see the pic of this thing your asking about (could you retry or discribe it?), but I do know that there is a model company called Atlantic that is older than WA and ...
Also: https://www.nhmshop.co.uk/dinosaurs/dinosaur-models.html These ARE scaled with each other and are listed as 1/40 scale. OTOH, their T-Rex is 26cm, smaller than the Schleich one. So I assume...
I've really enjoyed playing this game. Can't wait for the new expansion. Apparently it's going to be pretty big.
How did I miss these as a kid? These are awesome! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dino-Riders
I did the math on the Lindberg Stegosaurus. I get somewhere between 1/34 to 1/47th. (The internet says they were 6.5 to 9 meters long.)
Airfix have done dinos in the past. There was a reprinting of them as recently as 2005, aparrently. But unscaled. I don't have a size for them.
I put in a big order earlier in the week that included the Barbarian ladies. I'll get the Stargrave preorder done later in the month - just waiting to see what else might pop up on discount in the ...
Well, I preordered Stargrave mercs 2 and Frostgrave Barbarians 2 from Northstar.
We can look at some of the plastic dinosaur kits out there to see how a kit could be layed out/broken down. We can also see if any are 28mm-ish. (A lot of these kits are out of pr...
I'd most likely be using dinosaurs for pulp "Burroughs" style games. Exact scale not a requirement. Certainly all the lions and bears are described as gigantic as opposed to normal exam...
We got Zombies! Studio Miniatures plastic zombie Germans left and Warlord Games "Totenkorps" zombie Germans right: Detail of the Studio Miniatures plastics: Thoughts: 1. It'...
A further point about "realistic" dinosaurs... Are you happy to mix Cretaceous with Jurassic and Triassic? My stance is that you can't be that fussy about sizes (within reason) if your'e happy to ...
@Steven StGeorges I Googled "Polygon Kill Team Review." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.polygon.com/platform/amp/23331402/warhammer-40k-kill-team-into-the-dark-space-hulk-review Good read...
@William Redford if you read one of my previous posts, one of the few places were I went in the US was, in fact, Baltimore. I went on work, but of course visited Edgar Allen Poe's grave, unfortunat...
@Steven StGeorges Damn Brother, you just educated me. Thank You!
Here is a pic of the Inner Harbor
@Blutze Excellent points.
@Vitor Soares Maryland has some really nice places... but we also have some real cess pits too. Baltimore keeps increasing the number of murders each year... and that's pronounced Ballmore... here ...
@Steven StGeorges The Enforcers just don't float my boat. I'm well aware that the Enforcers are different than Adeptus Arbites, but did you ever read this?: Permanently turned me off to ...
@Steven StGeorges Not familiar with Quiqui. Googled it. This conversation took an unexpected turn.
@Steven StGeorges Cape Verde is really nice... Just really, really expensive. In Madeira you should check out the Levadas Trails. But only with a guide, they can be dangerous on your own.
@JTam Oh and do you take a look at Necromunda Palanite Enforcer Patrol With one mere 47$US box you can build up to 10 Enforcers with quite a vast array of options: - 6 Enforcer shotguns- 6...
@Vitor Soares Fair and simple reply: too many stuff to do in Lisbon to even think exploring the surroundings my friend. We did spend hours visiting museums and palaces.. one week was not eno...
@Steven StGeorges I can't believe you went to the south and not to Évora, my hometown, one of the most historical cities in Portugal, and one with 5 different wine regions around it, some of...
@Vitor Soares Bread .. that is another point. Even so-called French bakeries over here are serving a barely edible French stick: too salty, way too much overcooked or not cooked enough.. and...
@JTam But... where is Quiqui? And I am almost 99% quite sure Dan Abnett did use the battle of Fort de Vaux in his Gaunt Ghosts' novel "Only in Death".. an awesome book.
She'd probably scale better with Games Workshop Empire My 7th (?) edition state troops are actually closer to the Perry and WGA boys than to the H&D Jeanne, though indeed somewhere inbetween...
@JTam Mmm the Groupes Francs also known as Corps-Francs or simply Corps Francs -not related at all with post WWI German Freikrops- are quite an interesting point of the French Military. Les...
I believe the base "dinosaurs" are Games Workshop "Cold Ones" (more or less Raptors) and this thing: Mostly. The red one with the elf knight is a 7th edition dark elf cold one, currently sold as...
@JTam More like Kill Team than SH to my mind.. with specialists and so forth.. Building the Fort is quite simple -thanks to your interesting link to Wargames Illustrated: mere carved ...
@JTam I was wondering about doing the same actually thanks to polygon review of the upcoming KT boxes. The SHesque terrain is quite appealing to me ... Already preordered the Elucidian Stars...
@Geoff Maybury All good points on 1/56 dinosaurs being collectible/displayable... but also great for gaming/converting. The first Triceratopish model is a standard GW Lizardmen ...
@Mark Dewis For me the Schleich stuff is among the worst - it's way too tall and out of proportion for a rex, and that's even with the 'Jurassic Park' filter on. The one Schleic model I might go f...
