For those on the forum who are getting to Know me, it will probably come as no surprise that Eileen brought me the "Drowned Earth" I`ve raved about it like a kid on a sugar rush. I love "Dino" mode...
I would have never thought of using the chimp head. Genius! And the Dragoon carbine looks great too.
@Geoff Maybury I saw over on Dakka Dakka that it appears to be a discontinued model from another company. “That's an old modular resin Heavy Tractor kit from Ratgard. Looks like R...
At first I thought the hats may be Irish Caubeens but the pompom on top would not be on there. I think they are just large Tam-o-Shanters for the British WW 1 set.
@JTam Tam I love this picture, it`s a real stunning piece, what a lovely twist on a lost world theme. Coppied with thanks. Cheers Brother, Geoff.
@vissly cao this is truly epic stuff here. I Love the Eichentarn on the infantry armour. The mechs are a blast. Keep it up man
@JTam Finally, the infamous Swedish Chefs Assault Unit for Death Fields 😂
Eh Guys hows about this machine?.
@Mark Dewis Snap my friend makes the job so much easyier, and you can do more complex cuts and designs, than metal. Although I`ll use metal figures, or parts, if I need, to get that special item. &...
@Geoff Maybury thanks. Being able to play around with posing is one of the main reasons I prefer plastic.
Someone here or on the FB group mentioned science fiction Halflings. I got out my own Halfling militia kit to do some head and arm tests; Stargrave male crew arms are too big, except for tha...
Hold on...... Versus .. Coincidence?
@Vitor Soares Isn't a beret with a hem a chef's hat?
@JTam it is probably the hem of the beret, in my opinion.
Great project... like it SO much... good paint-job... I like that "Sturmtiger"-Tank, I had for a few years same idea but never build. I had taken a Stug-III fоr my own Iron-Corps...
@vissly cao Love the "ambush" scheme on the mechs. They look great. The whole force is impressive. Can you tell us more about what looks like a hover bike?
I don't care. Lord alone knows what will be the de rigueur military headgear 300 years from now. The way things are going now, probably a beaniecap with a big ole rubber dildo on it a...
Said sneak peak: Could it be something Renaissance? They appear to be wearing berets or similar on top of skull cap helmets.
@H M no! Only one of you can win the title of Ultimate miniature champion! Don't mind me... just taking a moment to escape from work. You both have solid arguments and I would buy eithe...
I think following up on the giant spider's format would be good for breaking some of these ideas into separate boxes. Currently for spiders we have. 2 large creatures (horse sized) 2 big creatur...
Here is a good video, showing among other things how to use Archon D&L dungeon floor tiles to make roofs for Archon Rampart Kazumi Temple buildings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YeRSDC6GU0
@AJ Saunders I am not a especialist, but I agree that they look rather big.
@Brian Van De Walker I don't think your ever going to get away from plastic soldiers basically always being x-period warrior with a diffetne helmet. Even your examples boil down to a west europeans...
This is one of the reasons I like so much all these new plastic boxes, there are endless possibilities of building your personal figures, all you need is your fantasy. I just build with a Stargrave...
@Hudson Adams Imagine what a chap from AWI's days would say about our hats!😄
These could be useful also for early byzantine armies. From late 3rd century onwards, the roman soldiers, either for economical reasons either bcz there was a very big flow of barbarian mercenaries...
The mech's is from multiabyss, and the tank is 1/48 tamiya jagdpanther
Neat. Those mech's from Konflict 47? I assume the tank is a converted Sturmtiger? It looks great.
@Grumpy Gnome Indeed I think that for things that need to be reassembled often other materials are better, like the core space cardboard terrain you mentioned (despite not being perfect). Still the...
So today's sneak peek seems to be a bunch of heads wearing Tam o'Shanters that are far too big for them? They should be about 3/4 the size to look right, coming to the top of the right ear no...
@Hudson Adams Yes they are🤣.
@William Redford I never said "Fireforge byzantines" just a good set of them would work and I really think WA or Victrix could do a better job at byzantines than Fireforge (thats what I was implyin...
“Are you guys seriously arguing about what a hat is going to look like in 300 years? ” @Hudson Adams I would not call it arguing. Cinematic costume design is one of my passions an...
We have tried Mantic terrain, both the sci-fi stuff from Deadzone as well as the “modern brick buildings” from Mars Attacks. I have not built any of it yet but looked at it enough to tr...
This machine armour is similar to what you want. It's a Chinese toy https://www.rihio.com/
They were on sale in Australia - I got a couple from a major retailer and they were reasonably priced as I recall. Around $10 to $12 AUD if memory serves. Very nice kits and the modular terrain tha...
Man, I really wish these would hit the states. It'd be reeeeal hard not to snag them all. Plus, the fact that their packaging is friggin' terrain is hella cool!
