@Grumpy Gnome Kind of waste for WW1 British when they could have them in dedicated WW1 Scottish set with kilts:
@Grumpy Gnome Kind of waste for WW1 British when they could have them in dedicated WW1 Scottish set with kilts:
Please for the love of all thats good and right in this world someone make plastic grey aliens so I can get the heads I wanna put on those halflings! Or maybe just a sprue with alien heads
@H M I will agree it’s an aesthetics chose, I won’t argue with you on that anymore. To answer your first actual question, given the only more or less positive conversation I have seen ...
It's got a strong Turok vibe. But could be any lost earth setting. Hollow Earth humans are very often depicted as North American type tribes. These guys have muskets, though, which is uncommon in ...
@H M Always do the projects that the muses suggest.
We'll know more when we see the sprue and if it has more humanoid arms and legs as an option, but I can see Kroot arms (which I have a bulk ton of) fitting that torso very well. WGA Lizardma...
I've dremelled his crotch out so he can have pants and not chain. The guy to the left will get the chain covered over with putty for a tunic look. Uplifted chimps probably make for useful spacers....
Tractor would be an excellent kit.
@Allan Lougheed I'd not say those are particularly close. A bit short and the wrong sort of spear head (lozenge instead of straight). Looks more like a cut down European boar spear to me.
Those tripartate ones are a touch fancy, though. Mostly they're just single blades.
There is also warlords plastic samurai and Ashigaru sets, the samurai set in particular comes with options to make everyone either sword or spear troops, so lots of extra Yari spears. They might b...
@Steven StGeorges Yeah, it’s probably just the equivalent of a cow for the giant spider race.
where is that pic from?
having some sort of 'high fantasy Men at Arms" would be neat, and if they are designed so they could be used as numenoreans, great. but make them general enough so they could be Atlanteans, or Valy...
One of my grandfathers (born in Friesland, 1912) had as best friend Pablo, who was a veteran of the Basque anti-fascist troops, Eusko Gudarostea (the Basque army). Their war song is magnificent, e...
Kirk Douglas is superb as a French line-officer. I don't know the movie "Les sentiers de la gloire" - "Paths of Glory" : one more gap to fill ! This actor was really what whe call "une gueule" in ...
@Mark Dewis Well done Mark... a real Grease Monkey in the flesh.. er.. hard plastic. Going to steal your concept.
@Berggeit really great conversions, expecially the Jedis' ones, for lightsabers I remember that someone(Hasslefree?) sell some thin plastic rods, in various colors, pefect to simulate lightsabers, ...
Thanks for the suggestions guys! Those Orc spears are definately close arent they? I think I will contact Perry and see if they will cast some for me. I need at least 50 so its probably worth their...
For JTam, Grumpy Gnome and all others. Finally got the picture for your enjoyment, the tractor, PS, Wargames Atlantic- if you'd like to build us one, we'll have it.
@Steven StGeorges I thought they were "Kits" they come in pieces.😇
Recently visited the National Military Museum I'm Bucharest, Romania. Incredible museum. Really enjoyed it. Had a suit of Reiter armor. More pictures here: https://warg...
Detail shots of Reiter armor at the National Military Museum, Bucharest, Romania:
I did a quick Google of the yari spears. (Be careful typing, yaoi spears is a whole other thing.) Maybe the Wargames Atlantic Orc spears with some cleanup? Are you stateside?&nb...
The Perry yari come separate, on sprue, with their yari armed ashigaru and samurai so good chance that it's a particular mould and that they can be sold instead of the naginata. Alternatively, you...
Might be worth contacting Perry Miniatures, as they have a Samurai range. They have a stock naginata item, but might be willing to sell spears on an ad hoc basis. Alternatively, a yari head is ess...
I thought I would share my first sprue of WWI Germans. Once I have more of these and my French painted up I will post some pics of a game. I plan to use THrough the Mud and the Blood from the Lardies.
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know of a good source for 28mm Yari? Really I just need the spearpoints and I could attach them to steel pins. I thought Wargames foundry might sell them but no go....
Who's to say the alien overlords even have a need for training militaries? Just print off as many soldiers as they need, if they even bother with that primitive way of doing things anymore. ...
Hmmm... I'm not sure what's causing this.
Each unit comes in a VERY useful six part interlocking ~3" cube that makes for great modular terrain. Buildings, large cargo containers etc, or just laid flat to make flooring, corridoors etc. Ther...
Welcome to the Xenozoic... 😉
@Geoff Maybury @Benjamin Hayward @William Redford @JTam An update (taken from TFW2005 forum) that should please people based in the US. "Pocket Titans are appearing in discount stor...
@Davy Jones Maybe the Bug is coming in peace 🙄
@Geoff Maybury Indeed my good friend: one type of PT per Recon Base Cube set.. 😁 And yes quite frustrating, PTs never made it in that side of the Pond... 🤪 @Benjamin Hayward But the...
Never been interested into GW 'nids (even if I like the visuals) mostly thanks to pricetag for "big boys", their rules and codex (they were such a death roller back to 2nd). Some years ago, managed...

@Steven StGeorges Thanks Steven, god why does everything thats nice and so dam usable, have to be imposible to get, those thing are dam smart.
Nice one Bill , don`t look bad do they, got to replace my "Aliens " with a class act so? It would be nice to stay 1/56th, I`m really glad they took the decsision to natural scale, the prospects are...
Hey people Mark makes a good job of painting Bugs as well as Marines Ooh-Rah.
@Chris Guy I would have thought they weren't as effective as their alien overlords real militaries, otherwise they probably wouldn't be participating in a sport in the first place.
The above Facebook quotes are from@Hudson Adams and I can't edit the post... so "ooh rag" is there to stay... :(
Saw this pic on Facebook. "...they're deceiving actually depending on which legs you use they can fit on 25mm-50mm bases. Some of the standing legs really compact the overall body down" &nb...
@Mark Dewis Prity close mark, more closer to "Across the Dead Earth",but yes, lovely animal /human characters good or bad. Makes for real different style of play, and the searching for lost it...
@Grumpy Gnome Could not agree more my friend, the figures seem really OTT to me,particulary the adventurers, but like J-Tam with Stalinggrad, I do not intend to use their minis and in fact will enj...
I collect Northstar Plastic kits for DnD (and Frostgrave, Stargrave, Rangers of Shadow Deep and Oathmark) because of a variety of reasons and one of those is the high kitbash potential. One of my f...
