its going to be a whole new world for my painting plans.
its going to be a whole new world for my painting plans.
Hey Everybody. Lord Marcus, AKA Max McDougall on facebook, and owner of McDougall Designs. I've been in this hobby for 19 years now. My main interests are the legions of undeath. Happy to help ev...
I don't know what would be good to do next, but I'm really excited for the conquistadors Maybe a kit that you could do as sailors, merchantmen, pirates
Same here, got back into the hobby early 2020, but for me mostly with terrain that led me back to my old favorite game - Mordheim, and then into Frostgrave which I absolutely love as well. Then th...
Hi all. Been on the facebook for a while. Have several sets but only actually built and painted 2 boxes of skeletons and 6 of the deathfield space dwarves (I can never remember the name...
I've always wanted peasants for the German Peasants' War in the 1520s. Would be perfect for a whole host of periods and places running militia, townsfolk etc.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's conversions. I've been eyeing the Death Fields Cannon Fodder and the WW1 French as cheap options for 28mm siege of vraks Renegades, thinking of mixing in pig i...
@BS Kitbasher Bit of both. Some WWI legs are somewhat smaller. Also, I picked a fairly large Afghan head; probably could have swapped with the shotgun guy.Angle forces perspective though. From the sid...
Maybe it's the angle, but they look too small.
@BS Kitbasher Did they mention whether they were going to reduce size for Valkirs too?
@BS Kitbasher True, and the Inca are probably a more solid option then I am giving them credit for.
@Andrew Fernandez Perry or old Fireforge? They'd probably more in scale with halfling arms.
@Brian Van De Walker Same pictures as on facebook.Linked from my page, not attached.@BS Kitbasher Care to elaborate?Maybe can be fixed.
The new Goth set preview looks like it has some great hand axes for simple hand swaps with the Halflings kit. I've been looking for good ways to diversify the weapons on the halflings.
@BS Kitbasher Yeah those will be great.
I really want the Valkir to become the go-to alternative for a certain other company's main figures, the power armored equivalent of Grognards and IG. The Shadokesh are also cool.
I can see them. They look to be the same as what he posted on Facebook. Fun conversions, although I'm not sold on the legs for the guy on the left.
Hmmm, am I the only who can't see Kwyll's kitbash photos?
I'd still want the Inca, even if only for fantasy conversions.
A giraffe reporting for duty... Feel free to ask about any terrain tips etc...
@Ethan Gilbert Even better - the two sets will go together really well. This is what I'm looking forward to. Using just one set of plastics for any given unit will show, but two sets (and maybe som...
Hello. I have a decent amount of Wargames Atlantic content on my blog at https://dereksweetoys.com/?s=Wargames+Atlantic.
Overall I agree on that being good plastic set idea though I think the Egyptians and Chariots already planned take precedence as do Warring States Chinese. I only know of one group contemplat...
Iam planning a full Greek syle undead army for next years wargaming! I have some shield transfers to really Greek these babies up
Actually there are more given the rise of skirmishing gaming for the era. One of the big gaps that exists now is just skirmishing poses for the big combatants that are NOT English, Scottish or Fren...
Alright folks. The idea for these guys stemmed from a couple of discussions over facebook.People were wondering how bits from Iron-Core and historical ranges would mix together.Since I hadn't tried ...
Alright folks, first post, and I'm skipping introductions to dive in talks of conversions.Speaking of skeletons, these are some guys I assembled a while ago; they aren't extensively converted, just...
Unlike a lot of the other lines, Iron Core already had pre existing sets and even some background lore with artwork. As this post title suggests what are some of the sets you look forwa...
Yeah, Eastern Europe is really good in general. You could also do Ottomans and a knights of Malta set or just an upgrade sprue for the conquistadors (not much difference between them and knights of...
@Ole Hoen not in this range sorry. Those would appear in First Empires.
These would be cool. Alos anzacs at Gallipoli. One kit would do just lots of different heads to cover lemon sqeezers, light horse etc
Winged lancers in plastic could, with some options, work for several periods as well as fantasy.
In the western theatre, because of my facination on the Italian Wars period, some figures for the mid to late conflicts. Plastic heavy cavalry for this period would be good and useful up to t...
Biblical era shield?
There are a lot of manufacturers in this era however two nations that are underdone are the Spanish and Ottomans. One advantage of an Ottoman range is they would work for most of the 18th century a...
So far, some musket to pistol mods and some bit box add-ons to the lizardmen set for tribals/air pirate types for general industral fantasy gaming, plus I took some of the arms and even heads to ma...
@Ethan Gilbert wait until you see the Army Builder set you can pair it with. Not to mention the Romans in mail, scale, etc.
It would be great to see a range of plastic Indian infantry and cavalry as AFAIK no-one does these and the metal ranges aren't all that great.
@Alix Barclay most of the ones I had added are on the product pages. 😀
@Hudson Adams thanks! Do you have pics to add, too?
I'm sure the Deathfields audience will have delighted in picking up some Terror Birds from some point in history and turned them into a cavalry mount for some poor unfortunate fighting force.... C...
Agree on moving east. there are plenty of manufacturers that focus on Europe and very few for Eastern Europe and beyond
I'm really excited for these sets as I have a set of home brew rules and having the aztecs in plastic help greatly in creating figures for some of the other meso American City-States
I love how versatile the boxes in this set are, a friend is using the skeletons with 3d printed shields to make an Egyptian skeleton army since models for that are harder to come by now. What conve...
A rustic picture frame ?
This box might overcome the gripping beast dark age warriors box for best go to generic warriors and i love that. The option for axes and slings look good and with the helmet less heads it looks li...
I think moving east would be great. Cossak light infantry or polish cavalry. No one has really covered the deluge outside of 15mm as far as I'm aware
The Renaissance range will officially kick off in the very near future as the molds arrive in our US plastics facility and the boxes are being printed for both the Conquistadors and the Aztecs. Wha...
