In anticipation of the soon-to-be-released Dark Ages Army Builder box (48 figures), I'm curious what armies/factions you plan to build?
I've been wanting to do a Franks warband for some time, but also want to add to my existing Saxons and Goths. I'll definitely be purchasing another box of Goth Warriors, since these seem tailor-made for combinations with this box (and have additional weapon choices like slings and bows).
First and foremost I have a fantasy army which I use for a few different rulesets that these boys will fit into. I already have a lot of the late Romans in this force as heavy infantry and some of the goth box as slingers.
As far as historical forces go, I want to make some levy for Ottonian era HRE. I love the stories from that era and a mix of some of the STL files the company puts out as well as these guys makes for a good army in this period
I'm wondering how Persian Bows would look with the tunics these guys are wearing. I've got a lot left over that I can use on a least a few of the bodies!
Good question: I'm not entirely sure! 48 warriors in a box can theoretically make up a whole army for Lion Rampant. In my case, I'm mulling over separating the box between several different projects, such as:
-Merovingian Frank levies and Gallo-Roman urban militias
-Visigoths + Iberio-Romans
-early medieval civilians with some good old fashioned kitbashing
This is a bit of a long shot, but I might pick some up, mix them with conquistador crossbows/cities of sigmar bits, and try to build Malazans. It would probably be a hell of a project, but I figured at the very least it would look cool.
