I'm considering building a Sassanid warband for Saga Age of Invasions. Would it be worthwhile to convert WA Persians to Sassanids? I've got plenty of spare parts and bits from other WA/Grippng Beast plastic kits to work with.

Why not?
There's probably an Official Wargaming Law against it, but as long as youre willing to take the risk, endure some flipped tables, and can escape the Kitbashing Police, you might survive with your freedom intact. I Am Not A Lawyer, but they seem like a reasonably close match to me. Sounds like a fun project, really.
Please, post pictures!
@Don Williams Well, not too sure on what the Sassanid infantry looked like really but its likely that as long as you don't use the Med heads, chop off the apple butts on the spears and mayby ditch the "gurka knife" swords I think you can make do with them (heck you may even be able to use all the stuff I suggested cutting, do some research).
That all said the Sassanid where more noted for thier cavalry.
I'm no expert, but I will add Victrix has a really good Persian-adjacent cavalry selection, as well as Sassanid-specific banners. could be worth it to mix and match.
(also yes, please post pics when you're done!)
doing some quick research.. conditional yes. you'll want to use the "cooking pot" hats and unhelmeted heads, but otherwise the outfits and weapons should be close enough.

which is slightly reifnroced by WGA having a digital offering for sassanian infantry that's pretty similar to the persian infantry plastics, but just using some of the more exotic infantry helmets.

@Mithril2098 LOL than I am wrong😆, the "pot hats" are the med hats. No apple spear butts though.
