Some thoughts on the box

  • I recently got the new box of Esienkern, and managed to find a box of the originals. A couple quick thoughts on the new one as compared to the old.

First- the weapons options are straight up DOPE. So much versatility in the box without really needing and upgrade sprue. Very cool.

Second- When doing a stright up compare side by side, the originals are definately chonkier, but not overly so. I am able to mix and match weapons no sweat, giving my larger troops the shorter rifle and sniper weapons without issue. i do have some issue getting the new ones built, but that's more of a "I smashed my booger picker on the might hand and have too much coffee everyday" kinda thing than a real gripe.

Third- The originals have bases. Now, I understand that we already get a really awesome set for the value, but would it hurt to throw some bases in the box? There's plenty of room in there.

Fourth (and last for now)- Seeing as WGA is going digital on so many things right now, a set of torsos and shoulder pads would be excellent as a thing to buy as it would allow for the leftover legs and weapons to be turned into more troops, further increasing the value.

What are others thoughts on the new ones? I'm waiting on my first 20 ladies to compare them to a box of the older ladies, and once that has happened, I'll be dropping a review of them on my blog. Until then, curious what others thoughts are on this.

  • @Battle Specter

Good write up.  Any chance of comparison pictures?  Thanks!

  • @JTam That'll come with the official review. Planning on doing a short video and written.

  • @Battle Specter

    Looking forward to it.

I Googled your blog.  Maybe include a direct link for the lazy?

Have you seen all the cool stuff forum member @vissly cao has been doing with the Eisenkern?

  • @JTam That is a good idea on the link. I'll get that sorted. As to @vissly cao, I just looked. Those look awesome. The poses are super cool. I'm more of a "model them like they're engaging" kind of guy, but I can appreciate what can be done with the range. Especially if you have an old accessory box.

  • @Battle Specter The ladys are gems, well made and easly converted, well worth the price, and as most my figures end up on Transperant bases  I`m really pleased.

  • Sorry she`s blured I`ll repost when she`s finished. Head is from the Warlord bicker Gang set.

  • @Geoff Maybury

That conversion worked really well.  As I mentioned before it inspired me to pick up some of the motorcycle sprues.

  • @Geoff Maybury Yeah, a better pic would be great. I'm really looking forward to getting some. I'm reasonably certain my Mother in law got me a box for Christmas (it's coming late as weather kicked us in the teeth here, and the borthers in law have wonky schedules).
