Overdone probably not given how small this little hobby is. But there is a reason a lot of people do Romans and any company that does historicals would be silly not to tackle them at some point.

Or you could label them cuirassiers, since those had the sort of heavier plate these figures have, during the 16th and 17th century.

looks like you can build both the Demi-lancers and the Reiters from that kit. but i'd go with Reiter, since that was the term used closer to the age of the conquistidors.
